The spaces are good. The facilities need to improve. The view is amazing.

Good place

This marina does not have Wi-Fi. To be more exact, there is public WiFi that requires sign in and verification email which is never actually sent. And their office simply denies Wi-Fi access.

The port is at the moment in renovations. If they finish (which can take at least a year based on how much work was done the week we anchor there) it will be an ameanable place. At the moment (April 2019) the port people are sooo nice. Always willing to help. To enter with you ship you need to contact them first (Channel 74 VHF) and state your purpose. One inside there are several areas wherr to dock. Careful: we were there in low season and the port was at 85% capacity. There are a lot of vessels residing in there. Call up front to check for a place. The marina per se has toilettes, but they are so discusting that we had to limit to our ship facilities. Since the toilettes were so bad, we did not even tried to see or use the showers. There were no restaurants close by open while we were there... however there was a typical Italian bar up the street. The Marina is not fenced, so anybody can enter. Although Palermo is considered unsafe, we felt safe most of the time. They are building a green area, but take care while walking around it. Since the area is open for access, we saw a lot of people coming with their dog in their car, park, let the dog out to use the park as toilette, get the dog again in the car and then leave without cleaning up after their pets. I suppose this is the only green area in this section of Palermo. Still... it makes it difficult to walk around without jumping around the dogs left overs. At night the port can be a bit loud, specially Friday and Saturday night as many people go to have their after party in the port premises. But after 00:00 it gets less noisy. In general, I will recommend this port as an alternative to the main port of Palermo or the other next to it (That one is really bad!) But only for one day. If you have been to the ports in Denmark, do not expect here any playground for the children, picnic tables or grill areas.

Office staff was helpful but marine officials made life difficult for us; Let's say they don't like foreigners; Came to check our papers at 2200 and again at 0750; stopped our boat from leaving the harbour demanding to see our invoice (we had of course paid = 100 Euros); Would not want to use them again

Nice place to pick up or drop off guests. The airport is about 40min away. The marina is a bit out of town and there is not much around. I suggest crew rent bikes if you are staying for any length of time. Guests will need cars.

The port has no security and no amenities. No restaurants. No stores. Nothing. The surrounding neighborhoods are filled with trash in the streets and dog poop all over the sidewalk. Disgusting. We have been in Marinas all over the Med. This is by far the worst.

Marina is located next to the working docks. Bit smelly there but close to Palermo.
