Chi ha la fortuna di percorrerlo al tramonto o all'alba vive una atmosfera magica carica di colori e di suoni prodotti dagli uccelli acquatici e dal movimento cullante delle acque del lago. Peccato notare l'incuranza delle parti comuni, spesso disseminate di rifiuti e lasciate allo sbando con aiuole spoglie, deiezioni di cani in mezzo alla camminata, erbacce e scarichi direttamente nel lago, tutto in netto contrasto con paesaggio e potenzialità naturali. La stazione ferroviaria,l'attracco del battello e la possibilità di svariate escursioni in acqua o nell'entroterra sono solo pochi esempi di svago e divertimento. Passando il confine si capisce come, con un po' di attenzione e qualche controllo in più è possibile valorizzare il territorio ed esserne fieri. Spero che il desiderio di ripresa ci stimoli a valorizzare il patrimonio comune e le sue potenzialità, magari semplicemente con piccoli gesti e attenzioni. The lakeside of Porto Ceresio is truly enchanting. Those lucky enough to walk it at sunset or sunrise experience a magical atmosphere full of colors and sounds produced by water birds and the rocking movement of the lake's waters. Too bad to note the neglect of the common areas, often scattered with waste and left in disarray with bare flower beds, dog droppings in the middle of the walk, weeds and drains directly into the lake, all in stark contrast to the landscape and natural potential. The railway station, the boat dock and the possibility of various excursions on the water or inland are just a few examples of leisure and entertainment. Crossing the border we understand how, with a little attention and a little more control, it is possible to enhance the territory and be proud of it. I hope that the desire for recovery stimulates us to enhance the common heritage and its potential, perhaps simply with small gestures and attention.

Nonostante la pandemia ci è stato possibile raggiungere Porto Ceresio per una breve passeggiata sul lungolago che ieri era pressoché deserto. La sua particolarità, oltre alle belle ville d'epoca, sono i murales che lo arricchiscono, alcuni dei quali molto suggestivi. In questo momento non tutto il lungolago è percorribile perché sono in corso lavori di rifacimento della pavimentazione ma il tratto con le opere artistiche è fruibile per passeggiate tranquille. Purtroppo abbiamo trovato quasi tutti i locali del centro chiusi ed il piccolo borgo affacciato sul lago di Lugano, solitamente molto vivace, appariva invece silenzioso e come sospeso. La visita è stata comunque gradevole anche se un po' solitaria. The panorama offered by the lake, in every season, is always beautiful. Despite the pandemic, we were able to reach Porto Ceresio for a short walk along the lakefront which was almost deserted yesterday. Its peculiarity, in addition to the beautiful period villas, are the murals that enrich it, some of which are very suggestive. At this time, not all of the lakefront is accessible because the pavement is being rebuilt, but the stretch with the artistic works is usable for quiet walks. Unfortunately we found almost all the rooms in the center closed and the small village overlooking Lake Lugano, usually very lively, appeared instead silent and as if suspended. The visit was still pleasant even if a bit lonely.
