★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Difficile non notare questa loggia chiamata la loggia dei Mercanti e opera cinquecentesca addossata in una parte del fianco destro della chiesa di san Francesco, di cui copre circa un terzo, tra corso Mazzini e piazza del Popolo ad Ascoli Piceno. Spesso occupata da bancarelle di artigianato locale.
It is difficult not to notice this loggia called the Loggia dei Mercanti and a sixteenth-century work leaning against a part of the right side of the church of San Francesco, of which it covers about a third, between Corso Mazzini and Piazza del Popolo in Ascoli Piceno. Often occupied by local craft stalls.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Loggia dei Mercanti è stata costruita intorno al 1500 per volontà della Corporazione della Lana che aveva anche finanziato la costruzione della chiesa e sul portale principale si nota la presenza di un agnello dal duplice significato: simbolo legato al Cristo e alla Confraternita. Sulla parete della Loggia c'è una lapide che riporta le misure dei laterizi usati per l'edilizia della città.
The Loggia dei Mercanti was built around 1500 by the will of the Wool Guild which had also financed the construction of the church and on the main portal you can see the presence of a lamb with a double meaning: a symbol linked to Christ and the Brotherhood. On the wall of the Loggia there is a plaque showing the measurements of the bricks used for the construction of the city.
