These guys had been super helpful and polite today! we got stuck in Verona as our train got blocked for an accident on the line Venezia - Torino, so we had to quickly find a car to get back to Milan; easy does it. Also the staff in Milan was super super accurate and kind - thumbs UP

Booked a car here but wasn't able to get it because of my card without a name on it. Yep, I know it's inconvenience, however I was expecting that dude at least tries to help, call someone, tries to figure out if card belongs to me by calling to a bank whatever, offer another solution like leave 500 euro in cash. Nothing! He just gave my docs back to me and said "call the company to cancel your booking". Oh cool. Thanks for the great service.

Beware of scams, Like many Americans I had a great deal of apprehension about renting a car in Italy. While I would rather not have done it at all our itinerary took us to places that would be difficult to reach on the train lines. I was somewhat concerned after reading several reviews online and resolved that “a trusted American brand” might be the safest bet reasoning that the ease of booking and fact that I was using an American company Alamo as an agent might help me should any issues arise. Locauto is the local affiliate. The vehicle itself was more or less as advertised. Check out was somewhat cumbersome as they have moved to ipads which do not allow you to easily catalog minor issues but seeing no major damages I signed all of the necessary paperwork and set off on our trip. When I arrived back about four days later the woman at the rental place began the process of vehicle inspection and had made it about halfway around the car when her supervisor came out and made her restart from the beginning with a newfound determination to find something. I did not hit anything or inflict any damage but I could tell from the body language that they were determined and sure enough when they made it to the end they informed be that there was a new <1cm scratch on the hubcap. This was not new but since I had failed to count every subcentimeter scatch as damage on the check out counted as such. The price demanded was 85 Euros to be paid immediately. When I objected I was informed that I could appeal to the corporate office but that this would cost an additional 100 Euro processing fee (I suppose because taking advantage of you customers requires significant administrative overhead). I called the Alamo US customer service twice and both times was told that someone would call me back which never happened. In the end Locauto just sent me an email stating that there was “new damage” and debit the card on file. I don’t know if this is a ploy used on all customers or all foreigners but I would stronger discourage others from using this company. Verona is a beautiful city. It’s a shame that our experience had to be marred by this.

Very good car rental agency in a very convenient location next to the train station. Needed a car on Easter Sunday. It was the only one that was open including all the major brands like Avis and hertz. Reserved the car online very easily and pickup process was equally as simple. Car was nice and pretty new. Staff was helpful and spoke English very well. I wish I had used them throughout the trip rather than the larger brands.

I have rented cars a few times before and I have to say, Alamo/Locauto has been the nicest car rental company I have ever experienced so far. When getting the car, Erka was super nice, explained the whole rental process and I was even able to choose between two cars. Later I had to increase the length of the renting period, which worked very uncomplicated and with a friendly employee on the phone. Giving back the car, Erka was again very friendly and assisted me over the phone to get to the parking space. If you need to rent a car in Verona and you want to feel like an appreciated customer, I can only recommend Alamo/Locauto at Verona Porta Nuova :D

The initial person we worked with when picking the car up was very friendly and helped us navigate the different options. But the lady who checked us out when returning the car was rude and lied to us about information provided to us the prior day when we picked up the car. Disappointing end to what could have been a good experience. I would recommend finding a company without employees who will lie directly to your face and then proceed to charge you extra.

Absolutely the best car rental service ever experience. Owners and employees are kind and really focused on customer experience. This Locauto agency in Verona is highly recommend.
