★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Park you car at the ferry pier if you can find a space and take the 2 hour ferry trip. WARNING. The road to the ferry is very narrow and big tour buses and trucks use it too so beware of getting sideswipped by one of them

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We started from Lenno by ferry. If you arrive by car, the parking spaces directly in front are only valid for 2 h, which means you have to park your car in a remote parking lot.
The man who sold the tickets for the ferry came 4 minutes before the departure of the ferry. He told us that Varenna was included in the "red" route, although we had previously said that the red route did not cover the town of Varenna, so we believed him and booked the ticket for €23.50 per person. The ferries are generally all late and the departure schedule is confusing. So we were under the belief we could go to Varenna and got on the boat until we were told we had to book Varenna on top and if we wanted to skip places we would have to pay for the speedboat as well for 9€ per person. Absolutely incompetent advice. You would think the people who work there should know the 3 routes they sell.
Conclusion: We would not recommend this tour to anyone and prefer to go by car.

Nice promenade, cafés and gelato shops along the promenade. On Sundays there's a market with lots of stuff to see... Nice atmosphere.
