In agosto affollatissimo. BELLISSIMO
A fairy tale of the Dolomites: the emerald blue lake. An alternative route (longer 15km and 800mt in altitude) but perfect in August as it is not frequented and above all which allows a more panoramic loop ride) to reach the wonderful Lake Sorapis is the one that starts from the little church of Passo 3 Croci through the path 213. Enter the Ciampo Marzo wood up to the Tardeiba junction where you take path 216 to the left which leads to the Forcella Marcuoira (first it seems grassy, then rock and finally a very steep scree). Behind us the view is satisfied in the presence of the Tofane and Monte Cristallo. From the Forcella you cross a plateau and pass the Cime Ciadin del Loudo with a small aided section. From here other amazing views, one towards Sesto with Lake Misurina, the Cadini and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and the other towards Auronzo di Cadore and the Ansiei Valley. From here begins the particularly steep descent towards the lake which can be seen almost immediately. When you arrive at the crossroads of path n.215, keep to the right and soon you are at the lake: another wonderful panorama on which the Finger of God stands out on one side and the mountains of Misurina on the other. The return to the pass is done by path n.215 (necessary deviation if you want to stop at the Vandelli refuge) and you pass a ledge, a metal staircase, two aided sections and then the path becomes easy to the end. You can, to shorten the return trip from path n.215! Very crowded in August. VERY BEAUTIFUL

Don't go at the end of the summer, it's more of a puddle than a lake.

SWIMMING STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. Great lake and place, but too many people unprepared for the hike, without respect for the natural and delicate place.

The way to lake takes 3-4 hours if you are not in shape. it may be quite difficult if you afraid from height but the jewel is the lake with it light blue color of the water. if you are good hiking person take 216 to the lake and return with 215. don't take 217. the slope degree is to high. for climbing or going down.

This walk to Lake Sorapis is one of the most beautiful excursions in the Dolomites. In fact the lake is famous for its intense colour, in hues ranging from light blue to turquoise. The colour is created by the fine rock dust brought down from the like-named glacier whose spring and summer meltwater gives rise to the lake. Starting from the Tre Croci Pass, take track n° 215. This is a varied, panoramic track, with uphill and downhill sections but only a small overall vertical distance. It runs through a beautiful forest, with views onto the mountain groups Cristallo, Popena, Cadini di Misurina and Tre Cime di Lavaredo. After an initial flat part, it becomes more difficult, with a number of metal ladders and some exposed sections along a flat ledge, equipped with metal cables. After these short equipped sections, you will soon reach the mountain lodge Rifugio Vandelli,

Amazing mountain lake and wonderful views on the route to there. Better to make this visit during a good weather. Snow with rain (in my case) hide many views around :-( Also the trail to the lake is relatively easy at the beginning but becomes more and more challenging as it continues. You should be in good physical shape and wear good shoes (at least) to make it.
