★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Da ragazzini ci pescavamo e ci facevamo il bagno in estate tuffandoci anche dagli alberi.
Allora i terreni attorno al lago erano coltivati e le sponde libere e accessibili da più parti.
Molti allora usufruivano del bellissimo luogo per fare delle scampagnate ferragostane.
Le acque sono ancora pulite e trasparenti e il luogo resta bellissimo, se si esclude la totale incuria delle sponde.
Ospita una folta colonia di tartarughe d'acqua che è facile osservare muovendosi senza fare troppo rumore.
Il microclima dovuto al dislivello di alcuni metri rispetto al suolo agevola la presenza di numerose spontanee anche eduli, di uccelli acquatici e coloratissine libellule.
Sarebbe un luogo adatto a bambini e anziani, a famiglie e turisti, gratuito e a pochi passi da Pisa. Il degrado lo rende però quasi inaccessibile.
Si raggiunge percorrendo una breve salita all'altezza del civico 298 della via Provinciale Calcesana e proseguendo a piedi.
When we were kids, we fished and bathed in the summer, even diving from the trees.
Then the lands around the lake were cultivated and the banks were free and accessible from many parts.
Many then used the beautiful place to make Ferragostane picnics.
The waters are still clean and transparent and the place remains beautiful, excluding the total neglect of the banks.
It is home to a large colony of water turtles that can be easily seen moving around without making too much noise.
The microclimate due to the difference in height of a few meters above the ground facilitates the presence of numerous spontaneous edible, waterfowl and dragonfly colored birds.
It would be a place for children and the elderly, families and tourists, free and just a short walk from Pisa. However, degradation makes it almost inaccessible.
It can be reached by going up a short slope at street number 298 of the Via Provinciale Calcesana and continuing on foot.
