We wanted to visit villa and garden and were very disapointed. We should pay € 15,- per person, but only for the garden. This garden was rather small. For this hudge amount we even couldn't visite the villa. So we chose not to visit. By the way: the villa is difficult to find, there are no signs wit the name.

These reviews are very misleading because some of the people are talking about the town and not the villa - so the rating is very skewed on the villa. Visiting the villa felt like a scam and we wondered if the owners know what is going on. We made an appointment 6 weeks in advance and it took us 45 minutes to find the place once we arrived in Fiesole. There is no phone number so you can only communicate by email. When we eventually arrived, and pressed a bell to enter, we were immediately asked for our 15 euro - no hello, no welcome, just a very miserable man who was not Italian (who we took to be the the gardener perhaps) and who asked for the money (keep in mind it costs 10 euro to visit the Boboli gardens in Florence). He had no change for our 40 euro and told us there was nothing he could do about that. The garden and view is lovely, but you get the same views from the town and it takes just 10 minutes to walk around - you do not get to go inside the small villa. We had assumed we would at the very least be given some history or told something about the garden, but instead we got a pointed finger telling us to 'just start over there' and were made to feel bit stupid. I would strongly recommend not wasting your money and if we could find someone to report this to we would.

Not far from Florence, you're in another world here. The village is easy to get to by bus and not too far to walk back to the city centre.

I had a terrible experience at this villa. First of all there are two entrances but it's unclear which one is for the public, and they are both on very steep hills. Don't make the mistake of going to the wrong one. When my elderly travel companion felt unwell after going up the hill and couldn't make the visit we were told to pay the 30 Euros in cash anyway or the custodian wouldn't open the gate to let us out. In the end I had to call the police to get us out of there!!!

A little hard to find but definitely worth the trek from Firenze. Ring the buzzer at the gate off the Main Street for access.

Fiesole is a lovely town near to Firenze, with elevated grounds so you have a sweeping view of the city. But not many parking spots, so you have to risk yourself finding a good spot to take a picture.
