★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the stuffed sardines plus stuffed eggplant, white wine and stuffed cannoli. Felt sufficiently stuffed afterwards. All were delicious. Service was fast. Good to choose items in display case. Great value and large portions.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best local restaurant on the eolian islands. Despite of Tavernella is on the main turistic street there are a lots of local people. The prices are very good but the food is awsom and better than in more expensive restaurants. There aren't waiters in white collar. Tavernella is run by local women. After one visit I was returning there every 3 next evenings on a dinner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stars earned for reasonable prices, friendly staff, great service and large menu. Stars lost for taste. We ordered the squid ink spaghetti and the spaghetti carbonara and didn’t enjoy either unfortunately!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious traditional food, with big servings, minus the expensive tourist prices. If you're looking for an honest delicious meal come here. My Pasta alla Norma was the best I've had so far in Sicily! My partner was recommended the swordfish pasta, he loved it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Tavernella is a solid choice when you are looking for a inexpensive, yet tasty meal in Lipari. Don't be put off by the too commercial signs in front of the restaurant. The business seems to be family-run, with very nice staff.
The menu is limited (no starters) but is catering to the majority of the tourists (probably).
We had mixed fish from the grill and a dish of pasta with pistachio. Both was good, but nothing special.
Anyway, you cannot have the best food every night ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you want a relatively inexpensive meal then try La Tavernella. Very friendly, fast service. I had the grilled fish platter, the calamari was excellent, everything else was a little overcooked for me. They have a large menu, there is something for everyone there. Give it a try.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ got there late as last chance to dine in town. its between a resto and a grab-go and eat at home joint.
all was good, eggplant rolls, sarde a beccafico and stuffed squid was already made showing in the counter and just heated up.
house wine was an addictive nerello.
bill was adequate for all the above.
