Arriving here by chance, lunch stop before visiting Siena, we found a welcoming and characteristic place. A real Tavera "of the past". The food is genuine as it once was, without too many frills but characterized by the authentic flavor of tradition. Exceptional value for money.

Very nice place where you can breathe a welcoming atmosphere but then the service turns out to be rather cold, an extra smile from Luisella who served us would not have been bad. Anyway, thank you for having answered "don't take them" to my question about beans: "Aren't they canned?". Appetizer of cured meats (two types of salami, a slice of ham and a slice of loin) and tasteless cheese, nothing of that quality and quantity as well as the crostini on which paté was spread without praise or infamy (they looked like those from the supermarket). Excellent and abundant first courses, such as pici with garlic, wild boar and rabbit ragout. Sliced al fresco not to be taken, a few strips of hard, salted meat and with three slices of salad tomato on top to be dressed with Ponti vinegar and Monini oil (in a Tuscan restaurant you can expect at least one oil from some local company). The overly crushed pieces of marinated rabbit and the soft ossobuco are tastier, albeit very greasy. Mixed vegetables in the oven rather chopped as well as the few pieces of baked potatoes. The 5 hard tozzetti and pre-packaged packets, the small glass of Vin Santo washed out, the micro tastings of homemade desserts are a little more pleasant. Medium-low prices, in line with the raw material.

Incredible food hidden in a tiny town, one of my favorite meals I had in all of Italy. Call ahead to ensure a table.

Very nice and friendly restaurant. All 30 available seats occupied with a mix of local guests and tourists (on a Monday night). Food was excellent and prices very honost. Just order the wine by liter for just 7 euro or a good espresso for 80 cents. Will visit again during our stay at La Bagnia resort.
