β β β β β We popped in here for a late lunch yesterday. We were seated at a table outside, they had umbrellas up so the shade was quite comfortable. Service was efficient.
We had a bottle of Pinot Grigio (20e); spaghetti alla carbonara and an Osso Buco. We find sharing a primi and a secondi is the right amount of food for the two of us. We were surrounded primarily by locals, so this seems a popular spot. The Osso Buco was good, but we had better at Gil. Still good tho and I'm fairly attached to the carbonara spaghetti now :). Very rich and savory. Pricing was in line with other restaurants we visited, ~$55 usd for meal.

β β β β β A traditional and very down to earth restaurant. They serve classic Italian dishes to a mixed clientele of Italians and tourists. No fringe, mostly good food, served as the ingredients present themselves. Interesting, old fashioned interior. Fast service, although not very warmly.

β β β β β Arrived late at the hotel and needed to find something for dinner. Luckily we stumbled upon this restaurant that was still open.
Very good pasta, friendly staff and quick service. Housewine was good.
The bread wouldnβt have been necessary.
Can recommend.

β β β β β I started this review when we sat down, so I have filled it throughout the meal.
So we were met by a very angry person who served us. She was around 60 years old and from the first encounter the marked that she didn't like us. She, more or less, threw the menu down on the the table in front of us. We didn't get a question to see the wine menu, even though every other guest got asked to see this.
We ordered the "house wine" and the waiter just opened the bottle and put it in front of us. She poured the wine for all of the other costumers, but not for us.
We ordered bruschetta and she, again, "threw" the plate in front of me and my fiancΓ©e. And didn't even look at us.
I ordered a pizza and my fiancΓ©e ordered calamari. The food was actually really good. But they got our order wrong, so we had to send the food back. We had to wait for like 10-15 minutes for the food to cook again.
I want to add this. There was a waiter, with Asian descent, who was REALLY nice. She came after the old h*g who served us first. This woman was really good and nice. But the older woman was horrible. The waiter with Asian descent served us complimentary shots after the dinner, just to make up for the mistake. So she was wonderful.
Add on again, we have waited 10 minutes for the cheque. But as I said, the waiter with Asian descent (my ethnicity is middle eastern, so it has absolutely nothing to do with ethnicity) was really wonderful.

β β β β β Originally we looked for a different restaurant near by, as we were walking around this area. The other place was full, so we went into "la Taverna Deu Monti", which at first glance looked busy and authentic.
An older man greeted us not very nicely, and it seemed like it is a family restaurant and I'm not sure they like tourists an visitors there and it felt like they are disrespectful of foreigners.
It felt like we had to be very precise and decisive about our order and know what we want, or else the waiter would just go to other customers who are.
It took about 30 minutes for the first dish to come out, after we both walked up to the waiter and another one after few minutes.
I saw a lot of locals eating in, and it didn't seem like they have the same experience as we had. 2 tables next to our table, came well after we did, and were on their second main courses whan we got our first.
I must point that the food was good, fresh and tasty!
A better service would have made the difference.
Another thing..after the waiter brought the dishes, he did apologize for the experience and we did as well.
Make sure you have time and patience before you go in!
