★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is always a queue here, so we tried it out. But no, the food was much too salty! And the queue is there while eating, so enjoy the big audience looking at you eat… We tried four different dishes and the ones with pork was salty. Not recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered carbonara and salad. They bring bread as extra, which was cold and old from early this morning, at least keep it warm or serve with olive oil! The carbonara was good, fresh, however the bacon was burned and was black. It can happen I guess but I expected more of their signature dish! Service was okay no problems encountered like other reviewers mention. You definitely need reservation to sit outside, I would suggest using phone, owner doesn’t look like she knows her way around e-mails expertly:)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely little gem hidden down a side street.
We visited for drinks and the welcome we received was one of the best in Rome.
The service was efficient and friendly, we really enjoyed our time here.
The homemade crisps are amazing!
We will definitely come back to The Carbonara on our next trip to Rome.
The staff are just so lovely, thank you for your hospitality!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location… close to so many of the historic sites but a little off the path so it’s not overly crowded… and with amazing pasta!! some of the best I’ve tried in my 5 months living here! I tried the Gricia. And very friendly service. If you want to sit outside I’d make a reservation if you can as there are only a few tables outside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I never repeat restaurants but La Carbonara is so good, I just couldn’t resist but going twice in a week ?? You can tell everything is made with fresh, high quality ingredients and love. The service is also really good and it’s centrally located a short walk away from the Colosseum. Can’t recommend it enough.
Note there is another restaurant with a similar name at Campo di Fiori (can’t vouch for the quality of that one but flagging in case of confusion!)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The locals at the supermarket across the street recommended this place and we were not disappointed!
The food was very tasty but the star of the show was the waiter. He had so much energy and was so cheerful that it was contagious. He really is a great salesman and made the dining experience memorable!
We really recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Rome who wants a nice dinner away from tourist traps!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place for a spectacular dinner with an amazing wine list. Known for carbonara, but really everything is exceptional. The staff is friendly and speaks English. Overall this is a highly recommended restaurant, but you need reservations.
