★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you relate stars to hipster-global-pristine design: stay away. This is no place for you. Here a Nonna in an apron runs the place at her own pace and with a smile. Grilled octopus, their specialty, tastes of sea and charcoal and is served plain with half a lemon. You can eat a full dish of raw mussels for 4eur (oysters of the poor!) and the fish fritata is rich, diverse and fresh (except for the Gambas). And yes, the tables are plastic and there is no fancy decoration. Where others wrote "dirty" I saw a simple, unchanging and easy way of life. What a relief ! We went there on a Sunday in October, and had lunch in the sun with seaview without being overcharged for it. On the contrary, price/quality wise this was very , very affordable. Last detail: we were surrounded by locals who knew why they were there and what to order. This is what you look for when travelling, isn't it? A taste of the "real" in another context? Well... this is it, simple plastic tables and nonna included.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is simple food, cooked well. Spartan setting and great views. Nothing fancy, but very authentic and a real experience. None was lovely, her family on the staff it seems, and while it was quiet when I was there I could tell the passion they had for food.
This is something real, and that makes it special. Dont go expecting to be blown away, but go expecting an authentic, well priced, and truly Italian welcome.and cuisine.
