It's rare to dine in a trattoria that is 150 years old and still providing great service. The staff are professional and kind, the interior is clean and nicely decorated. The food is great, prepared with fresh ingridients including pasta. Pricing is reasonable for the quality of the food offered, the portions are just right. They do not charge coperto at this time, but they serve bread and olives to start. The house wine is very good. Their fried artichokes are delicious and are a must. Amatriciana pasta is their staple and is excellent. This place is an institution and it is highly recommended.

So good! We came for a very late lunch and there weren't many people around. No tourists there as well, although the menu has English translations. Service was professional and quick. The bucatini alla matriciana was perfect, so simple and yet so delicious. No wonder they have been around for quite some time ?. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends.

Excellent, and I mean it traditional cuisine. Perfect service from my waiter Tony. He was very helpful pairing wine and dishes. Nice selection of wine! Beautiful menu with many stellar dishes to choose from. I had the Capesante primi, of course the Bucatini all" Amatriciana with the Pecorino Sardi and Abruzesse Guinciale. The Gamberoni Rossi were quite nice, I had one puny one that snuck by but the rest were marvelous, Saltimbocca alla Romagna. Very nice selection of Amaro. Crostata di albicocca fabulous. Perfect ristretto. Don't miss out. Bravissimo!

Great traditional Roman cuisine in a nice setting. Overall the service was exceptional and all the dishes were well-executed and flavorful. The bread, Prosciutto and Mozarella, the Fillet Mignon with pepper sauce, and the Tagliata di Manzo were exceptional.

Wonderful Italian dinner here with a great view over the square and the opera theater. Classic old family owned restaurant. They offered olives and bread to start. We had pasta with mussels, grilled squid, asparagus and house fries (which are actually like chips and I didn’t expect that) and house white wine. Great service by a hand of waiters and decent prices. Will return if in Rome!

We needed some quick dinner when we arrived. We had no bookings and therefore just stumbled upon this. It ended up being a very nice experience, taking into account that there is a lack of options without reservations.

The food was beyond delicious, and above our Italian expectations. The waiters were very helpful and really enjoyed you as a guest - they were there to give you a full Italian experience. Wines were really good and affordable. Food was freshly made, simple - in a really good way - and full of concentrated flavours. Would recommend this to anyone that doesn’t want to be caught in a tourist trap, but would be appreciated as a guest!
