★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just an update of our previous review to confirm that La Grotta keeps on being very enjoyable year after year. Very nice people and excellent local recipes in the heart of Cortona! We will come back. // Previous review: Beautiful place with delicious food and friendly staff at reasonable prices. All this in the shadow even if you seat outside. Best to book.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful, quiet location just off Via Nazionale. We enjoyed the outside seating. This was easily our most delicious meal in Italy. Wife had pici pasta with olive oil and truffles. I had tagliatelle with Bolognese. Both were outstanding, though simple. Excellent service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent food! Great service, fast and cordial, friendly. Relaxed atmosphere. Very accommodating! Were even dog friendly to our giant breed mountain dog and found a table with a spot for him in the corner and gave us a water bowl for the dog.
