★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had high expectations for this place and sadly it was just an ok experience. The ambience is quite lovely with the lights everywhere but found the food was bordering on average for such a place.
Generally felt overpriced for the quality of the food provided.
Dishes were good but nothing outstanding or hadn’t had better elsewhere for cheaper. Pear ravioli was great. Ragu pasta was very meh dish. Beef with olive oil and Rosemary was quite good.
Our mushroom salad was our most expensive dish and it was basically cut up mushrooms with sliced truffles sprinkled on top with little else. I regretted ordering this dish and more so when I realized it cost 2x as much as our other dishes. I made the wrong choice here.
Some nice things: they provided on the house small bites and Prosecco.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Started out with high hopes due to the complimentary Prosecco and antipasto. The buffalo mozz was delicious and served with honey, nuts, and jam. Things went downhill with the pasta - the carbonara dishes were a bit disappointing (didn’t have a “wow” factor). However the tiramisu su su was outstanding and a pleasant way to end dinner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An amazing experience. With complimentary bubbles, Tuscan crostini appetizer, and Amaro digestivo they really know how to welcome their guests. The Balasmic steak was incredible - definitely one of thr best dishes we had here in Florence. The pear ravioli was also very good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Giostra is a very good and hits just below the Michelin star line. The wine menu is extensive and includes Brunello di Montalcino by the glass. The service is friendly and multilingual. The food is very good and memorable. You can't beat the candle lit atmosphere. The best dish we tried was the fantastic vegetarian ravioli with pecorino and pear filling. Skip the cinghale.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and me had an amazing night here! Food was excellent, we had Pulpo Carpaccio, Carbonarra Pasta, Ossobuco and Tiramisu. We received a Prosecco and a plate with Bruschetta to start with as hello from the kitchen, lovely. Also the staff was so friendly and helpful with recommendations, service really is next level here. Ambient and decoration super lovely and romatic, nice for date night! A must visit when in Florence.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The core of everything La Giostra does is great. Great interior with fantastic service and an offering of a free glass of Prosecco on arrival. Wine was fantastic at the bottom end of the menu and no need to go towards the top end of the menu for the €60 bottles. Chianti is chianti after all…. The food was great but what left me most frustrated and therefore loses a star in the rating was the bits around the edges. The fillet mignon was delicious but the carrots and potatoes around the side were tepid and something that get like it came from the supermarket frozen section. Simply unacceptable for a restaurant portraying itself as a cut above the rest.
Focus on what you do best, the carrots and potatoes were unnecessary (I would have rather order a side) and you’ll get the 5* from me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best restaurant in Florence hands down. The service is incredible. You are welcomed in with Prosecco and an appetizer plate. The wine is served by experienced servers and is decanted at the table. And you can’t beat the food, especially the pear ravioli. Have been multiple times and will go back everytime I have a friend in town!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had high expectations, but unfortunately it just didn’t live up to the hype at all. I’m giving 4 stars, but really it was 3.5 at best for us.
The food was nice, but nothing was a standout. We did make reservations and mentioned we would be celebrating our Anniversary. We were seated at the table closest to the door. The wine was decanted and served, which was lovely presentation, but then our server changed, or perhaps they work as a team. We felt rushed, and it seemed like the server that took our order felt put out by our 1-2 questions since the menu was only in Italian.
The food came pretty fast, we ate and plates were cleared immediately. We ordered desserts, were given complimentary limoncello and felt like the meal was over. No time to sit or linger and we didn’t even have a chance to order a second bottle of wine.
I wish the dining experience felt as magical as the restaurant markets itself to be.
Thankfully, we did have some really fun magical dinners elsewhere in Firenze.
