★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped for the day in Matera on our way to the coast and stumbled upon L'Antica Credenza. The sandwiches we purchased with roasted black boar and local meats & pickles were some of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Highly recommended for an informal lunch and great value to boot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was suggested by a local friend. We ordered local wine and a snack. The wine was bad both the white and the black. The black was supposed to be a slightly old one matured in wood barrique. It was served very cold. This is usually done to cover the taste of the not so good wine. The white was too sweet. We asked for a dry one. It might be good for a tourist not so expert of wine, but it is definitely not recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Spritz taken were very good pair with a couple of Crostoni with stracciatella and local ham, whose were just delicious. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Situated just in front a beautiful church, San Giovanni’s Church, is a place that deserves a visit so that, You can have an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a late dinner here after walking the Sassi. Service good, food was excellent, we tried the tagliare board and there was plenty for two people on the smaller of the two boards. Marked down a point only as there were several people vaping inside, which I guess may be technically ok, isn't very pleasant for others. Great selection of beers, and what seemed like plenty of wine choices. Central location and in my opinion very good value

Nice sandwich and a glass of wine.
Staff was friendly.
No picture but the meatballs were excellent. So was the cappuccino.
Lots of young smokers. Street musicians were an added bonus.
