C'è ancora il terzo ponte di Ortigia e non compare ancora via dell'Unità di Italia, mentre al suo posto c'è ancora la ferrovia che non c'è più da quasi un decennio. La mappa di Ortigia riporta i numeri di luoghi di interesse, ma manca la legenda. La legenda c'è invece nella cartina di Siracusa. Peccato però che tale legenda si riferisca ad una mappa più vasta, per cui diversi numeri sono relativi a luoghi di interesse che sono al di fuori della carta. Eviterei inoltre di mettere la foto del Castello di Eurialo, da tempo non visitabile, onde non indurre dei turisti a recarsi fino a Belvedere per scoprirlo a proprie spese. Questa cartina è proprio l'esempio di come non fare promozione del turismo. Meglio dire che si è un negozio di souvenir e non far credere ai turisti che si tratti di un punto di informazione. A questo proposito oltretutto correggerei nel cartello esterno l'affermazione che si danno "suggestioni" turistiche. In italiano si dice suggerimenti e le suggestioni sono un'altra cosa. È solo una pessima traduzione dall'inglese. Occorre più professionalità! The map of Syracuse that was supplied to me is really bad. There is still the third bridge of Ortigia and Via dell'Unità di Italia still does not appear, while in its place there is still the railway that has been gone for almost a decade. The map of Ortigia shows the numbers of places of interest, but the legend is missing. The legend is on the Syracuse map. Too bad, however, that this legend refers to a larger map, so different numbers are related to places of interest that are outside the map. I would also avoid putting the photo of the Eurialo Castle, which has not been open for a long time, so as not to induce tourists to go to Belvedere to find out at their own expense. This map is exactly the example of how not to promote tourism. Better to say that you are a souvenir shop and don't let tourists think it's a point of information. In this regard, moreover, I would correct in the external cartel the assertion that tourism "suggestions" are given. In Italian we say suggestions and suggestions are something else. It's just a bad translation from English. More professionalism is needed!

More than a year later we received today a fine of in total 86,16 euro to pay within 5 days for parking (or driving?) on Varco Di Ponte Santa Luca. We can only object in with a letter in Italian...... What a unfriendly way to treat your visitors! Italian signs with camera's.... In my opinion is this a ordinary "tourist trap". We are verry disappointed and have decided to cancel our next trip to Sicilie! You do not treat your visitors well. We will warn friends and family to avoid Siracusa. Verry dissapointing, never again!

Additionally they have even remembered me with followup information that I needed to plan excursions to remote locations. They suggested interesting places I would not have know about otherwise including: Vendicari, Pantalica, plus also beaches at Fontane Bianche and Arenella; and volunteer activities such as with PlasticFree. I am staying in Ortigia for 1 month, therefore they have been an invaluable resources to me. Grazie, Molto Gentile.
