L	Laura Forro on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Civitavecchia harbor is quite chaotic. We had to take a ferry to Sicily. First of all, when you have an digital ticket, printed, no one is telling you that you have to validated it at the “Biglietteria” – autostrade del mare, so most of the travelers in que, ready to get on board, are sent back to validate their ticket. Based on the amount if people present and ready to board for different destinations, the number of toilets is basic and they are not enough places where you can buy water or something to eat. Since you have to wait at least 2 hours before boarding that is a lot of time in the sun. Perhaps at the secured entrance of the harbor there should be English speaking guards and they should inform the passengers about the validation of their electronic tickets. Better traffic signs and more bars or vending machines with water and food (on the piers) could improve the boarding experience.

There is no carts to baggage, I was with two cats and two baggages and I did not know that the place to "l'imbarco" was more than 3 km from the place to check in. I had to keep asking for strangers to help me because nobody works there and the service does not offer nothing.

The boats used as ferry are very old dirty und most of the times not very clean – and last but certainly not least they run on very dirty old engines which surely harm the nature a lot. I better fly to Sardinia than using these vessels once more …
D	Demis Borsalino on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you bought your ticket from the website, you have to first go to to the "Terminal 1" building (a good 5 minute drive away, if no traffic) to check-in... Once there you might learn that the boat you are about to board on only accepts cash to buy food and drink. The ATM inside the building does not work yet (as of 6th October), in which case you have to drive to the city centre, approximately 5-8 minute away in absence of traffic.
