They also offer pick ups from Varenna…which would be what I recommend as the drive up takes you thru some seriously serpentine roads. Car park near the restaurant is also fairly limited. Otherwise, service was lovely - the chef continually came out to check on us. Food was good.. at very reasonable prices. You do get the small town restaurant feel… away from the tourist crowds.

Great pasta and the starters were a great mix as well, and accomodated my dietary preferences. I changed my reservation a few times before and they were very good with communication and patient. Also fortunate to be picked up and dropped off from Perledo. Would recommend for sure, lovely atmosphere as well.

The food is made with fresh, local ingredients and you can tell - the ravioli was probably the best pasta I have ever eaten. Even though my partner and I were vegetarian, there were plenty of options for us to eat. The wine selection at Il Caminetto is excellent - we had three different wines and couldn't fault any of them. Also, you couldn't find better hosts - we were picked up and dropped off in Perledo, and they were so friendly with us throughout the whole night. The restaurant itself is a lovely setting - the wooden furniture and log fire makes the place so comfortable. Our biggest regret was not going a second time - we tried to book again but they were fully booked for the day we wanted to go. I recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment. Il Caminetto was the culinary highlight of our holiday in Lake Como.

Quaint and charming atmosphere as we dined by a cozy wood burning fireplace. Hospitality was second to none. We felt right at home with the owners who personally took care of us. And the food. Oh my. Heavenly! Do yourself a favor and go there right away.

Met some very well traveled people there who agree & said it was the best experience of their trip to the area. Chef Moreno and his wife Rosella were a delight! Beautiful views down to the lake just steps from their front door. He also offers cooking classes.
C	Chee Wong on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cooking class with Moreno and Rossella was definitely the highlight of our trip at Lake Como. It was a small intimate class of 6 of us in a family owned, traditional Italian restaurant with a fireplace. Chef Moreno was very knowledgeable but very humble, humorous yet serious and passionate about his profession, excellent teacher who used lots of metaphors and examples to help us understand the skills and heart of cooking. The class started with morning tea made by his wife, Rossella, then watching Moreno make pasta from scratch, then more snacks and wine to enjoy, then we learnt to shape tortelloni. We had lunch and ended with watching Moreno cook risotto for us. 5 hours flew by, besides learning about cooking, we truly enjoyed listening to chef talking about history and culture of food and ingredients.

We decided to try it out after reading very good reviews and I can honestly say they were real and this place deserves more than one visit. The owners are wonderful and friendly, the local is very nice decorated and the food is divine! I encorage you to have this experience, you will not be dissapointed!
K	Katie Mattina on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ WOW. Where to start. My only regret is not coming back for more than one visit at this was our most memorable meal in 2 weeks in Italy, and topped by none. This was more than a meal it was essentially an evening experience like nothing else. I know that is a commonly claimed in many reviews but this was well worth leaving Varenna/our AirBnB area to try and would even say worth coming from other towns in the Lake Como area to visit. They offered pickup and drop off service which was greatly appreciated and reflective of the overall warm hospitality of the experience. Most importantly the food was DELICIOUS. Every single thing we tasted was memorable and cooked to perfection. You can sense the pride in every dish from the chef who is extremely talented and hardworking, and still takes time to greet guests. Would recommend the tasting menu ... and then I should have come back to try other dishes for a second visit. Very reasonably priced as well.
