Hotel Sonia

I am giving one star, just because they have the will to try to make some changes with the interior. All other parameters are zero. To find the number of your room, you will need guidance. It is mostly like to be a labyrint. We returned back to the front desk twice, asking Mrs. Marina for some support, but she was too lazy, so just waved with hands and her guidance stopped to "turn left to the corridor and take the elevator". Which we did and met another lost couple with suitcases searching for their room, too. Although they were Italian they received the same unpolite attitude from Mrs. Marina. I have never see such are complicated situation. Finally, we met one waitress and she guide us to the rooms, which was difficult for her too. When we open the door the very first impression was the nasty smell of the toilet... In adition, Mrs Marina from the front desk, asked me for 20 Euro for parking spot, whether it was matter of dead time between 22:00PM till 05:00AM. After all there was no chance to pay her this money. We will Never ever visit this hotel, again. Dear Mrs Marina, Thank you very much for your reply, but it is not quite correct. First of all, my discount came from the fact, that the prices in Booking.com were 35% lower from the very first price, that you gave me via my telephone call. Secondly, you were announced for our late check in which was after 21:30PM and till we were wandering to find our rooms into your corridors and elevators it passed 22:00PM. Due to the restriction measures of the Italian authorities for forbidden movement on the streets between 22:00PM-05:00AM, what did you do?. You pointed the street and said go and park on free premises. Although I asked you several times for your permission and mostly understanding to let me into parking area of the hotel. Your answer was, that it is full, there are no free parking spots, although I warned you, that we will leave the hotel 05:00AM and you always can check who payed for the breakfast, respectively we could park in front of his car without bothering his free movements. But, there has to be a will for this from your side. Anyway, following your advise, I went out with my car from your so precious reception area on the street and start looking for parking spot and 200 meters away I met one police car. It was nearly 22:30PM and maybe my luck not be stopped was the fact, that I am driving a car with foreign plate. By the way, we are owners of the hotel on the Black sea and please do not talk to me like you did some special favor or discounts. We will never leave our guests in situation like this, especially foreigners who do not know the local rules or have enough orientation late in the night. And if I continue my correspondence with you is only the fact that I have over 800 comments, which are helpful for the travelers to prevent them from my mistakes.

Good food, good housekeeping. Thermostat was not working There was no fridge in the room.

Comfortable as expected.In the begining had to face some problems but after informing them it got sorted in few minutes.Overall great experience. Thanks.?

Can be better. Stayed here for a night cuz my flight was next day. Close to airport. decent & budget friendly hotel . It would had bn nice if they provided complimentary water in the room.

The food is amazing. A perfect Italian style menu. The portion is huge and the taste is wow. Hats of to the chef. Staff is very helpful and professional. Rooms are clean and with new technologies. A beautiful hotel with good rooms.

Worst hotel ever, booked by my company. Even on my own while on a budget, i wouldn't stoop to a hotel this low, literally just 4 walls. Room too small, worst service with enormously high waiting times, no fridge in the room, noise from 8 clock in the morning from the staff that won't let you sleep. Makes you wonder how much they bribed to get the 3 stars.

The hotel is big with plenty corridors, like a maze. It looks new, or freshly refurbished. Some areas though are not finished, like for example 2nd floor where elevator doesn't go. The overall impression was ruined by the decision of receptionist to put me in the room on the 2nd floor, and I had to carry my suitcase by stairs without any help. Doesn't make sense, as my colleague at the same time received the room on 1st floor. Inside the room is clean, bathroom has toiletries, but missing bucket. There are glasses on the table, but no water. No fridge. Would be preferable to have some drinks, at least a kettle, for tea or coffee, which even cheaper hotels have. Breakfast buffet is full with variety of yogurts, sweets and fruits. There was no vegetables (like cucumber or tomato), or some ham, to make a sandwich. If it is a popular place for the crew members stay, there should be more details paid to the comfort.

Hotel is situated quite outside near highway, so if you are planning to visit Trieste, you will need car. Also maybe noisy if windows are opened. Air condition was not working maybe they turn it on only in summer. Stuff is quite friendly and cleaning service is good. Rooms are clean. Some stuff have very poor English language, also canteen has some organizational problems (not enough tables for breakfast, also both coffee machines were not functioning). Also breakfast costing 9 euro was a bit poor. We had much better one in Spain for 8 euro.
