S	Sam Maxson on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow. Where to begin with the experience we just had with this place? We arrived in Padenghe on the boat from Sirmione and it was pouring with rain. On arriving at the port, Villa Garuti is the first thing which can be seen and we had hoped that the reception staff might take pity on two sodden tourists and do us the favour of calling us a taxi. How mistaken we were! What followed in the reception was like a scene from Fawlty Towers. In the best Italian I could muster (which is passable but not conversational enough to order a taxi) I asked the receptionist if she could call us a taxi, whereupon I was informed that the most she was willing to do was provide us with a local taxi number. Slightly taken aback by this, we took the number and decided we would call the taxi whilst sheltering in the porch of Villa Garuti from the by now torrential rain. Wrong again! This time the lady proprietor of the hotel emerged looking uncannily like a poor man’s Sybil Fawlty, opened the door and pointedly said “Prego”. She might as well have spat on the floor at the same time such was her disdain for two poor soggy souls whose only crime was to enquiry as to whether a hotel reception might call them a taxi. Denying the request is one thing (but still bizarre given that the pizzeria next door which must have its fair share of clueless tourists subsequently helped us out with a smile), but belittling us to boot was totally and utterly unnecessary and betrays a nastiness and contempt for other people which I suspect is only very thinly veiled by a simpering smile reserved for those people whose cash they are taking. With this attitude, I struggle to see how they are in the hotel business. Avoid.
C	Clarence Brown on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a very nice stay .. very friendly staff.. we had a good deal on are appartment..it was very small and a low standard..but clean ..don't forget if you book close to the waterfront there will be a lot of mosquito... I would book again ..
L	Lilja Addeman on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely and warm. Went in August. Not to crowded. Lots of small jumping spiders but they aren't really a problem. Not convenient for walking to restaurants but easy it driving.
K	Kevin Prüssner on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful apartment inside of the little tower on the hill. Downside is the apartment above. It is VERY loud when somebody is walking above. The last night we where there, somebody arrived around midnight (With luggage). Couldnt sleep until around 02:00 in the morning. (Fun, when you have around 12 hours of driving ahead) Sad part was: The guy from the reception, who introduced the late guests, was talking the loudest :D. Could hear every word. Other than that, our stay was very good and we will be back. (But in a different apartment). The kids enjoyed every second. (For the future: Please upgrade the handrails to the tower apartments. Its very dangerous for little children. There is NO safety for them.)
