★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We hiked the Greenway de Lago di Como today. It is a fairly well marked hiking/walking trail that meanders through the quaint villages located between Colonna and Griante. The trail is a pebble stone walkway and includes some challenging hills. This is the perfect way to The the Como country-side, villages, people and spectacular views. Sturdy shoes and water are recommended and don't forget your camera.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice area to relax. Some trees to just rest below and enjoy the view. There is a small Cafe nearby where you can buy some drinks and have a little snack. But we came for sleeping on the grass.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely walk with great views of the lake. Walk from Colonno to Argegno and Cadenabbia to Menaggio best done on a bus, can be busy roads and often no path bit these two locations are great to finish for food and drink

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Take the 10km route. You will find different cities, from the oldest one to the most modern one. Prepare your body before do the trekking. Bring oil for massage. Lol. Not so easy actually, but possible if u have strong will.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My girlfriend and I walked the whole 10.5km. During the first 5km you walk through towns and area's you normally won't visit. We really liked this other perspective of Lake Como. Directions were clear, at some points it gets a little bit confusing, but nothing too major. The second half, when you're walking next to the water was, in our opinion, a bit too long. The villas are amazing but if you've seen 10, the 11th is more of the same. From this point you get almost no directions (obvious because it's just a straight line) and little info. You get less a feeling you're doing a special route. And the ending is soooo anticlimactic. The road just stops, no sign, no celebration comitee, nothing. Just turn around and walk the 10.5 km back
It's a great way to explore Lake Como, but I would recommend to not walk the whole 10.5km. Just enjoy yourself with some apperitivo and the villa's when you're at the waterside, and turn around when you're getting too drunk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A really enjoyable hike along lightly travelled roads and through some beautiful historical towns. More stone paths than “green” - but great views of the lake as much of the walk is about 100 meters above the main roads. Not too strenuous.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a lovely walk along the Greenway. The trail is very well marked with blue and yellow directional signs as well as circular plaques/medallions inset into the path (see pic). The wander through the villages, along the water and up to higher points provide tons of great spots for pictures. Lots of spots to stop for lunch, a drink, or a gelato along the way.
