Ho fatto oggi pomeriggio la visita guidata col FAI giovani, e siamo entrati nel salone dove si prendeva il the del pomeriggio e si danzava la sera, nelle cucine, in un paio di camere, e in una sala ancora con allestito il set di suspiria. Tra l'altro la giornata era bruttissima, quindi fuori vento nuvole e nebbia, che hanno contribuito a creare un'aura di mistero, che calzava a pennello con il luogo. Le visite riprenderanno l'anno prossimo. Consiglio vivamente di andare a vederlo. Le guide del FAI bravissime, letteralmente da applauso (noi inoltre abbiamo fatto la visita guidata teatralizzata, davvero coinvolgente). Andate a visitarlo, ve ne innamorerete!!! This afternoon I made the guided tour with the young FAI, and we entered the hall where we had tea in the afternoon and danced in the evening, in the kitchens, in a couple of rooms, and in a room still with the set of suspiria set up. Among other things, the day was very ugly, so outside the wind clouds and fog, which contributed to creating an aura of mystery, which fitted perfectly with the place. Visits will resume next year. I highly recommend going to see it. The guides of the FAI very good, literally applause (we also made the dramatized guided tour, really engaging). Go and visit it, you'll love it !!!

Al momento la fonte di guadagno per i proprietari deriva dal fatto che essi lo utilizzano come piattaforma per antenne facendosi pagare l'affitto da compagnie varie o per girare parti di film cinematografici come ad es. Suspiria. Raramente grazie al FAI viene aperta al pubblico una piccola area del piano terra. Grazie al FAI Giovani, attraverso delle aperture straordinarie programmate, dopo 50 anni dalla sua chiusura, da aprile vi è la possibilità di poter apprezzare anche parte degli interni, seppur devastati dall'abbandono e dal tempo, di questo mastodontico complesso di villeggiatura che ha visto nel periodo interbellico il suo maggior splendore. Complimenti alle guide e alla loro passione che trasmettono con tanto entusiasmo. Remarkable example of Italian liberty style, this Grand Hotel was designed by Giuseppe Sommaruga in 1908. Sono sempre affascinato dai luoghi e dai vecchi edifici abbandonati specialmente se questi hanno una valenza storica ed architettonica di un certo rilievo come nel caso del Grand Hotel Campo dei Fiori di Varese. Avrei voluto dare 5 stelle ma ne ho tolta una proprio per sensibilizzare la cura e la gestione di un patrimonio culturale come questo che purtroppo da troppi decenni è lasciato all’incirca e al degrado più totale. Un vero peccato! Tuttavia consiglio a chiunque di approfittare delle visite guidate per visitarlo quando vi è la possibilità. I had hoped for years and dreamed of being able to visit this place from the inside. I am always fascinated by places and old abandoned buildings, especially if they have a significant historical and architectural value, as in the case of the Grand Hotel Campo dei Fiori in Varese. I wanted to give 5 stars but I removed one of their own to raise awareness of the care and management of a cultural heritage like this that unfortunately for far too many decades has been left roughly and to total degradation. Such a pity! However, I recommend anyone to take advantage of the guided tours to visit when there is a chance.
