Le statue interne, raffiguranti l'arcangelo Gabriele e Maria, sono di Cristoforo Prestinari (1610) e vennero donate dal paese d'Orta. The interior of the chapel reproduces a room of a 17th century patrician house, with a wooden bed, spinning wheels, a sideboard and various outfits. The internal statues, depicting the archangel Gabriel and Mary, are by Cristoforo Prestinari (1610) and were donated by the town of Orta.

Molto bella la terza con il dipinto di Guttuso la fuga in Egitto. Bello il Santuario con annesso monastero. Vista incantevole sui laghi di Varese Recently seen the Sacro Monte di Varese for the first time. I did not walk all the way but only the first chapels. The third is very beautiful with the painting by Guttuso the flight into Egypt. The Sanctuary with an adjoining monastery is beautiful. Enchanting view over the lakes of Varese

La posa della prima pietra, avvenuta il 25 marzo del 1605, diede ufficialmente inizio al grandioso progetto della Via Sacra, malgrado i primi lavori fossero già stati avviati nel novembre dell’anno precedente. La cappella, progettata da Giuseppe Bernascone, è leggermente sopraelevata rispetto al viale, ha pianta rettangolare ed è circondata su tre lati da un leggiadro porticato scandito da archi su colonne ioniche binate. First Chapel: the Annunciation. The First Chapel is dedicated to the Annunciation. The laying of the first stone, which took place on 25 March 1605, officially started the grandiose project of the Via Sacra, despite the fact that the first works had already started in November of the previous year. The chapel, designed by Giuseppe Bernascone, is slightly elevated from the avenue, has a rectangular plan and is surrounded on three sides by a graceful portico marked by arches on coupled Ionic columns.
V	Vi X on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Non pensavo di trovarmi davanti questa bellezza non capivo il perché del patrimonio UNESCO ero andata senza documentarmi .... pensavo fosse solo una via crucis, quasi per caso ci siamo affacciati alle finestre della cappelle per scoprire delle statue in terracotta di dimensioni umane ciascuna un'opera d'arte a raffigurare scene dal vangelo. Piacevole ed impegnativa la salita al Sacro Monte I did not think I was in front of this beauty I did not understand why I had gone to the UNESCO heritage without documenting ... I thought it was just a via crucis, almost by chance we looked out the windows of the chapel to discover terracotta statues of human dimensions each one a work of art to depict scenes from the gospel. The ascent to the Sacro Monte is pleasant and demanding

Bella, veramente piacevole la salita che, una volta terminate le cappelle, rimane prevalentemente nel bosco. Servono delle buone scarpe in quanto il sentiero presenta dei sassi. We made the trip from the first chapel to the Bellavista square. Beautiful, really pleasant the climb that, once the chapels are finished, remains mainly in the woods. You need good shoes as the path has stones.
N	Nicola Cosimo on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissima giornata passata al sacro Monte, noi abbiamo fatto il percorso inverso, per salire abbiamo preso la funicolare, abbiamo visitato il santuario, e mangiato un ottimo panino ed una buonissima torta di mele al "Convivio del Sacro Monte", piccola nota non è possibile pagare con POS o carte di credito. Beautiful day spent at the sacred mountain, we did the reverse route, to go up we took the funicular, we visited the sanctuary, and ate an excellent sandwich and a delicious apple pie at the "Convivio del Sacro Monte", small note is not possible pay with POS or credit cards.
