Adesso è un luogo piuttosto degradato e che richiederebbe di essere reso disponibile a tutti.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La piramide delle Cascine, alta una decina di metri, fu costruita in pietra nel 1796 su una preesistente piramide di legno e paglia. È l'ingresso di una "diacciaia": nel locale/cisterna sottostante infatti veniva raccolta e pressata la neve invernale per conservare il ghiaccio fino ai mesi estivi al fine di conservare cibi e preparare sorbetti e gelati.
The Cascine pyramid, about ten meters high, was built of stone in 1796 on a pre-existing pyramid of wood and straw. It is the entrance to a "cold store": in the room / cistern below, in fact, winter snow was collected and pressed to keep the ice until the summer months in order to store food and prepare sorbets and ice cream.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tra gli aberi del parco delle cascine si trova questa costruzione a forma di piramide che e' bella e si vede bene dalla strada e passeggiando nel parco ; era una ghiacciaia con le mura molto spesse dove si conservava la neve , intorno ci sono panchine ed e' un bel posto per fare una sosta durante le passeggiate.

Alla sua vista è inevitabile la rievocazione dell'Antico Egitto ma con una veloce ricerca sul web si fa presto a capire che nulla ha a che fare con le tradizioni e i riti funebri dei Faraoni, anche se sempre di conservazione si tratta! È una piramide ghiacciaia, costruita sul finire del 700 era adibita alla raccolta di neve per garantire la conservazione di cibo nei mesi caldi, una vera e propria cella frigo. Peccato che non sia visitabile.
What is a pyramid doing at the Cascine ?! In his view, the re-enactment of Ancient Egypt is inevitable but with a quick search on the web it is easy to understand that nothing has to do with the traditions and funeral rites of the Pharaohs, even if it is always about conservation! It is an ice chest pyramid, built at the end of the eighteenth century, it was used to collect snow to ensure the conservation of food in the hot months, a real cold store. Too bad it cannot be visited.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Я був дуже здивований коли побачив "египетську" піраміду у парку Флоренции. Тільки тут зберігалося не тіло якогось фараона, а холод. Бо то насправді величезний холодильник. Для спекотної Італії це теж було унікально, якщо згадати що збудована ця піраміда була більше ніж 200 років тому.
