β β β β β We've been there in October 2021. The return ticket is 5.70 euros. Everything okay until we had to return. There was a huge queue and we had to wait more than 45 min to go back to the city. If you are not in a hurry, ok, but if you have to catch a bus or a train you'd better go down on foot.
The view is beautiful, there are a few bars on top where you can have a drink.

β β β β β Roundtrip cost 5,4 euros, departing every 30 min and it takes 7 min to go to/from Brunate. A must to do if you are at Como. The view from up there is definitely worth it

β β β β β Its one of the todo list when in Como, but personally I felt not worth it... If you have taken such trams/trains that rides up the hill, this would nothing be new... Doesn't go much to the height, have pretty decent view of Lake Como, have one restaurant at the stop above but that's pretty much it... There is but one problem which we felt quite challenging was while taking a tram back down, you need to enter a station after climbing few steps. For people who had babys and pram specifically, had a little tough time holding a pram and climbing stairs. I preferably if would have known, wouldn't have spend on a ticket for Funiclore...

This funicular train ? is only a 5 minutes walk from the Como-Lago railway station ?,which is on the right side of the lake upon exiting from the station.
The roundabout ticket ? costs β¬5(approx.)for an adult. To enjoy the best view from the funicular when ascending or descending you must be clever enough to be the first one in the row to enter the board and stay in the downside of the train.
After arriving at the Hilltop, you can enjoy the magnificent view of Lake Como, The mountains β° of Lugano-Switzerland, Turin etc. This stop is a great location to take some amazing photos ? and selfies ? with your buddies ? and loved? ones. There is a mini restaurant here,a souvenir shop and a bar. After looking around for some minutes take the bus (cost:10β¬/adult) to the Lighthouse,which is presumably the highest place around lake como. After that return safely ? and enjoy the rest of the Magnificent lake.

β β β β β Not very Covid safeβ¦ Most individuals were not wearing masks or not wearing proper FFP2 masks as required throughout the rest of the city. The funicular is small and many people squeeze on next to each other making it hard to keep distance. People also push and shove to make sure that they have the best view or shove their phone in front
of your face to film out the windows no matter where youβre standing. Itβs reasonably priced and it does have stunning views, but in winter most of the places in Brunate were closed.

β β β β β The funicular rail is a must when visiting the town of Como, absolutely breathtaking views at the top. The train carriages are spacious and open to enjoy the views on the journey too. Great to see the beautiful villas at the top of the hill. Would absolutely recommend to anyone!

β β β β β Well worth the cost. One of the sections of the funicular is fully wheelchair accessible. Brunate is also accessible via roads but they are narrow with car traffic. The walking path to the lighthouse is not accessible. Too steep and rocky. Views from the easily accessible area at top are fantastic.
