Franco Fadda Wine Tour Tuscany Siena Experience

Our party of 6 took a tour of Montalcino with Franco from our home base in Siena. This was the last full day of our 10 day visit to Italy and it was a definite highlight of our trip. Franco was easy to communicate via email and WhatsApp. He showed up on time and was a great host from the beginning. We live near Napa Valley and have done lots of wine tours in Napa and Sonoma. This tour was unlike anything we have done before. We visited two wineries in Montalcino, once called Il Fornace and the other Bellaria. Both wineries are family owned/run and produce just 9,000-12,000 bottles per year right out of their homes. At both wineries, it was just our group, Franco and the winemaker (and sometimes a family member or two). They were intimate and the wines were delicious. We are big Napa Valley cab drinkers, and these Brunellos (Sangiovese grape) did not disappoint! Included in our tour was a 4-course lunch at Bellaria prepared by the winemaker himself. The food and wine pairings were amazing. We ordered two cases between the two wineries at very reasonable prices and shipped the wine back home. Every time we open a bottle, we will reminisce about our amazing day in Montalcino. Franco was a fantastic, knowledgeable and gracious host. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour or guide. Thank you, Franco. We hope to see you again the next time we visit Italy! Update: We received our wine shipments less than a month after returning home. One shipment was missing three bottles of wine we had ordered (they provided three bottles of a different wine instead). We contacted Franco via WhatsApp and within an hour he had contacted the winery and corrected the mistake. We are expecting our missing bottles soon. Now that is great customer service!

Franco’s tour was easily one of the best parts of our honeymoon! We did a private tour with him to three wineries and an olive oil farm throughout Tuscany, including both Chianti Classico and Montepulciano. Light breakfast and lunch included too! We did the wine lovers tour at Antinori nel Chianti Classico the day prior to our Franco Fadda tour, and it was awesome to follow that with Franco Fadda. We got to see much smaller wineries in comparison and felt like it was a more authentic, unique experience that we would never have been able to do on our own. What’s even better is Franco is such good friends with everyone along the way that you just can’t help but smile at all of their interactions together. And it’s easy to see why! Franco is such a blast to be around, and we were with him for 12 hours straight. :) Throughout the day, we essentially had a private tour and tasting at each winery with no one else onsite, and got a much closer look at each wineries’ processes and what made them unique. Each winery was phenomenal with delicious wines, and we shipped some home from them all, which Franco makes easy by helping coordinate it for you in partner with one of the wineries. Lastly, the olive oil farm was a wonderful treat too! We got to taste and see the olive oil being made by one of the best makers in the world and he’s only 20 years old! It was incredible and basically being made out of a garage-like space on the family’s property. We honestly cannot recommend a tour with Franco Fadda enough. We’ve been raving about it since we got back from our honeymoon, and it was easily the main highlight of our entire trip. This is a once in a lifetime experience that is worth every penny and more! We felt like we got so much beyond what we paid for that doing one of his tours should be a no brainer to all. You must book with Franco if you’re in Tuscany! You won’t regret it! It will be hard to write a review the reflects how wonderful Franco’s tours are. We had the pleasure of doing both the Brunello di Montalcino and the Montepulciano tours in our time in Tuscany. Both days were incredible thanks to Franco. He really knows how to curate an amazing experience. From the unique small wineries, to the absolutely delicious wine at every winery we visited, to the incredible food (and more wine) at the lunches Franco arranged, to the epic Tuscany views - this was without a doubt the best part of our Tuscany trip. Franco was an incredible guide, he showed us what going “above and beyond” means. To top it all off, Franco even helped us with our required PCR test to get back into Canada. Thank you Franco for your incredible generosity with your knowledge and time, and we can’t wait to do another tour with you when we inevitably return!

Franco went above and beyond to make our wine tour special. He picked out some amazing wineries and then our lunch was the best meal we had during our stay in Italy. From the very first contact with Franco booking our tour, Franco was very responsive, professional, extremely knowledgable, and made our tour very personal. Amazing experience! Franco knows how to make you feel comfortable and happy with the places you’ll visit with him. We had a Brunello di Montalcino experience with him and was more than we expected. We visited multiple wineries, villages and had amazing food! 100% recommended.

This was absolutely one of the best experiences. Communication with Franco was excellent, he picked us up from our hotel in Siena for the tour which was very convenient. We visited two wineries and a castle which were absolutely amazing in every aspect. The food for our lunch stop was some of the best food I have ever had.
