L'ingresso per andarci è a malapena segnalato sulla piazza pricinpale dei Campi d'Annibale. L'entrata si trova in piccolo vicolo a ridosso di un'abitazione, si fa una piccola salita alla cui sommità si trovano le rovine della fortezza. Il luogo è un pochino abbandonato ahimé! Ma da lassù sembra di volare sui Castelli Romani. La vista spazia da Monte Cavo sulla sinistra, al lago di Albano, Rocca di Papa, Castelgandolfo, Grottaferrata, Frascati e il Tuscolo sulla destra racchiusi dall'orizzonte che arriva fino al mare. A breathtaking view! The Rocca di Papa fortress was a pleasant surprise. The entrance to go there is barely signposted on the main square of Campi d'Annibale. The entrance is located in a small alley close to a house, you make a small climb at the top of which are the ruins of the fortress. The place is a little abandoned alas! But from up there it seems to fly over the Castelli Romani. The view extends from Monte Cavo on the left, to Lake Albano, Rocca di Papa, Castelgandolfo, Grottaferrata, Frascati and Tuscolo on the right enclosed by the horizon that reaches the sea.

Ultimamente il Comune di Rocca di Papa si prende cura sempre di più della Fortezza e ci si accorge subito, basta guardare i nuovi cartelli per capire che la loro attenzione nei confronti del posto è molto alta.. Spero che i vandali non se la prendono più così comoda e qualche telecamera non sarebbe una cattiva idea.. Non riesco invece a capire come mai tutta l'estate e anche adesso a Settembre, quando il tempo ancora lo permette, l'orario di chiusura sia previsto per le ore 18:00, assurdo.. Andando via alle 18:00, ci siamo spostati al punto panoramico che dista più o meno 40 metri e vi posso assicurare che in tanti (anche famiglie con bambini) continuavo a chiedermi informazioni su come raggiungere la Fortezza.. Ovviamente, dopo qualche minuto facevano ritorno molto amareggiati perché trovavano il cancello chiuso.. Se per caso qualcuno del Comune di Rocca di Papa legge i nostri commenti/ le nostre recensioni, vi chiediamo gentilmente di spostare la chiusura almeno di un paio di ore (tipo le 20:00 di sera)!! Lately the Municipality of Rocca di Papa takes care of the Fortress more and more and you notice immediately, just look at the new signs to understand that their attention towards the place is very high .. I hope the vandals don't take it so comfortable anymore and some cameras wouldn't be a bad idea .. But I can't understand why all summer and even now in September, when the weather still allows it, the closing time is scheduled for 18:00, absurd .. Leaving at 18:00, we moved to the viewpoint which is more or less 40 meters away and I can assure you that many (including families with children) kept asking me for information on how to reach the Fortress .. Obviously, after a few minutes they did return very embittered because they found the gate closed .. If by chance someone from the Municipality of Rocca di Papa reads our comments / reviews, we kindly ask you to postpone the closing for at least a couple of hours (like 20:00 in the evening ) !!
