The fortress stands untouched on the outskirts of historic Pistoia. There were hardly any people when I visited. It feels like a lost place. Very interesting!

Merita di essere visitato perché chi ci lavora si impegna a rendere la Fortezza interessante, ma se l'avessero avuta tipo a San Gimignano ci si sarebbero fatti d'oro But can you have such a beautiful historical site and leave it to the winds? Va ser reconstruït per ordre de Cosimo I de Medici des de 1539, i posteriorment ampliat per Bernardo Buontalenti. Va sostenir un sol setge per part de les tropes de Barberini en 1643, abans de ser desarmat pel Gran Duc Leopold Leopold el 1734. Posteriorment va ser utilitzat com a caserna i presó militar, mentre que avui serveix com a escenari per a espectacles de cinema durant l'estiu. K	Kevin Macchini on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fortezza storica di Pistoia è un buon luogo dove andare a fare una passeggiata e da esplorare,si trova praticamente dentro piazza d'armi,personalmente non ci ho mai fatto tanto caso mentre passeggiavo nel parco ma le fortezze hanno sempre il loro fascino dopotutto. Essendo che si trova vicino alla stazione è difficile anche solo non passarci. Historical fortress of Pistoia is a good place to go for a walk and to explore, it is practically located inside the parade ground, personally I have never noticed it so much while walking in the park but the fortresses always have their charm after all. Being that it is close to the station, it is difficult not to pass by.
