★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Zona Falcata, fortul SS, obeliscul, statuia aurita a Fecioarei, de acolo din mare au fost in timp martorii istoriei orasului Messina, la bine si la greu.Acum e zona marinei militare, care in timp a amenajat un muzeu, ce vorbeste de la sine despre istoria zbuciumata a acestui colt de lume.
The Falcata area, the SS Force, the obelisk, the golden statue of the Virgin, from there out of the sea were witnesses of Messina's history for good and hard. Now it's the naval navy area that has set up a museum, about the tumultuous history of this corner of the world.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Caratteristico Castello/Fortezza che ospita il museo sito quasi ai piedi della Madonnina, icona di Messina e di tutta la Sicilia in quanto risaltano insieme con il poderoso molo arrivando dal continente. Ho vissuto il contesto alla fine degli anni ottanta, per circa due anni in quanto fui destinato su una delle navi militari di stanza in quella sede. Attualmente è visitabile a quei tempi no.
Characteristic Castle / Fortress that houses the museum located almost at the foot of the Madonnina, an icon of Messina and of all Sicily as they stand out together with the mighty pier coming from the continent. I experienced the context in the late eighties, for about two years as I was assigned to one of the military ships stationed there. Currently it can be visited in those days no.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visitato grazie al festival "la Via dei Tesori", come si vede dalle foto sono presenti delle stanze adibite a mostra. Visitabile per tutti i weekend di Settembre, consiglio di andarci adesso in quanto, essendo base militare, in altri periodi non sarebbe possibile entrare.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fortress of Santissimo Salvatore built in 1546 by Emperor Charles V of Holy Roman Empire (1500-1558) also known as King Carlos I of Spain. Allied Christian fleet ubde Don Juan of Austria (1547-1578) set sail from here in 1571 to defeat Ottoman fleet at the sea battle of Lepanto. The author of immortal "Don Quixote of La Mancha", Don Miguel de Cervantes y Saavedra (1547-1616) took part in the battle of Lepanto and was badly wounded in his hand during that battle. Surely he was here in the fortress before and after Lepanto.
