★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Situato a 746 metri edificato in un periodo compreso tra il 1885 e il 1890 faceva parte di quel sistema difensivo comprensivo della "Piazzaforte di Altare" con i forti Tagliata di Altare, Tecci e Cascinotto e della batteria d'appoggio sul monte Baraccone. Si presenta a pianta poligonale e circondata interamente da un fossato, quest'ultimo ulteriormente protetto e difeso da due caponiere; le stesse sono raggiungibili dall'interno del forte tramite gallerie. A livello del fossato si trovava la caserma, mentre nella zona superiore era ospitata l'artiglieria che era composta da quattro cannoni 12 GRC Ret e da altri quattro cannoni da 15 GRC Ret collocati su piazzole esterne.
Il forte risulta in stato di abbandono, oramai invaso dalla vegetazione infestante. All'ingresso, non più praticabile per il crollo del ponte mobile, si possono vedere parecchie incisioni sui mattoni, coi nomi di operai e/o soldati, risalenti agli anni della costruzione e del presidio.
Located at 746 meters built in a period between 1885 and 1890 it was part of that defensive system including the "Piazzaforte di Altare" with the forts Tagliata di Altare, Tecci and Cascinotto and the battery of support on Mount Baraccone. It has a polygonal plan and is entirely surrounded by a moat, the latter further protected and defended by two caponiers; they can be reached from inside the fort through tunnels. At the level of the moat there was the barracks, while in the upper area there was the artillery which consisted of four 12 GRC Ret cannons and four other 15 GRC Ret cannons placed on external pitches.
The fort is in a state of neglect, now invaded by weed vegetation. At the entrance, no longer practicable due to the collapse of the mobile bridge, you can see several engravings on the bricks, with the names of workers and / or soldiers, dating back to the years of construction and garrison.
