★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quando fu costruita, nel 1552, era addossata alle mura perimetrali di una villa privata di Papa Giulio III ed era alimentata dalla sorgente di cui porta il nome. Successivamente la villa scomparve ed al di sopra della fontana fu costruito un palazzo. Anche la fontana ha cambiato aspetto rispetto al passato e quello che si vede oggi è piuttosto malconcio...
 When it was built in 1552, it was leaning against the perimeter walls of a private villa of Pope Julius III and was fed by the spring whose name it bears. Subsequently the villa disappeared and a palace was built above the fountain. Even the fountain has changed its appearance compared to the past and what you see today is rather battered ...

Located on the Via Flaminia it is at the corner of the Giulia valley which is called because it is fed by the aqueduct of the Virgin water. the fountain was built at the behest of Papà Giulio lll,. Built from 1552 to 1553 by the Florentine architect Bartolomeo Ammanati.
