★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una testimonianza: Nel 2004 durante una gita sociale della ETHOS, Associazione Enogastronomica di Colleferro (RM), ho acquistato alcune bottiglie di Carpineto Fontalpino del 2002. Ricordo, oltre la bellezza dei vigneti sottolineati dalle rose piantate all'inizio dei filari, la cortesia dei giovani proprietari e la dolcezza e simpatia in particolare della Sig.ra Gioia.
Una di queste bottiglie l'ho aperta Domenica scorsa in una occasione speciale. Ero un po' scettico sulla conservazione di un vino di 16 anni. In altri casi ero rimasto molto deluso. Ma tutti noi siamo rimasti sbalorditi dalla qualità del vino che è maturato in modo eccellente e affinando e conservandosi perfetto.
Il colore aveva appena virato su un caldo rosso di corpo.
All'olfatto profumi di frutta matura (ciliegia rossa) e delicata
Al gusto una equilibrio straordinario.
Sorprendente la quasi totale assenza di residui tannici appena abbozzati (ho la foto nel caso fosse d'interesse).
Non ultimo un tappo di sughero ancora perfetto! (non capita spesso!!!)
il vino l'abbiamo trovato di eccezionale qualità.

A testimony: In 2004 during a social outing of ETHOS, the Food and Wine Association of Colleferro (RM), I bought some bottles of Carpineto Fontalpino from 2002. I remember, besides the beauty of the vineyards highlighted by the roses planted at the beginning of the rows, the courtesy of the young owners and the sweetness and sympathy in particular of Mrs. Gioia.
One of these bottles I opened last Sunday on a special occasion. I was a bit skeptical about storing a 16 year old wine. In other cases I was very disappointed. But all of us were amazed by the quality of the wine which matured excellently and refining and keeping perfect.
The color had just turned to a warm red-bodied.
On the nose aromas of ripe fruit (red cherry) and delicate
On the palate an extraordinary balance.
The almost total absence of barely sketched tannic residues is surprising (I have the photo in case it is of interest).
Last but not least, a cork that is still perfect! (it doesn't happen often !!!)
we found the wine of exceptional quality.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The visit to my friend Gioia and Paola is always a pleasure as the winery headquarters and wine tasting area are placed in the middle of Montaperti's vineyards, where also Montaperto wine is produced. Montaperti by the way is one of the most important historical sites of the whole UNESCO Siena Area protected sites. Gioia's wines accompanying even the staplest tuscan food as a bruschetta or a plate of home made tagliatelle or even elaborated gourmet dishes are simply perfect. I suggest to my students and trainees to visit the winery and taste the novelties (such as the champenoise white bubbles made in Tuscany by Gioia).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a wonderful winery. They make wine with the focus on quality instead of quantity. We did the tasting of all six wines including appetisers. From the warm welcoming from Alice and the owners till the end of the tasting, it was all a great experience with good and tasteful wines.
