★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Questa chiesa o meglio quello che è visibile di un edificio di culto, si trova all’incrocio fra Via Itri e Via Roma, poco distante dal Centro Storico di Sperlonga, uno dei più belli d’Italia.
Più che parlare di ex chiesa, si può definirla come non chiesa non portata a termine, poiché sono visibili solo le mura perimetrali e nessun ornamento sulla facciata e tantomeno ai lati e comunque è completamente priva di copertura.
La datazione sarebbe impossibile se non ci fosse nella parte alta della cornice del portale, in ferro battuto, la data 1897 con l'aggiunta di una piccola croce.
Comunque la facciata sarebbe risultata semplice, con il grande portale prima citato, e sovrastata da un frontone triangolare, al cui centro spicca un rosone,
Sui lati sono presenti in alto due finestre per lato con arco a tutto sesto, mentre si intravedono in corrispondenza delle stesse ma più in basso altre aperture ma murate.
Davanti alla chiesa è presente un croce in ferro, con in altro la classica scritta INRI, con alla base una iscrizione che indica la data del 1932 a ricordo di una S. Missione del Novembre 1882.
NOTA INRI:
Secondo la tradizione citata nei vangeli Ponzio Pilato fece apporre sulla croce di Gesù la seguente scritta: “Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum”, per schernirlo.
Quindi nella tradizione sui crocifissi che rappresentano tale croce viene messo l’acronimo INRI.
In Italiano significa ” Gesù Nazareno Re dei Giudei”.
 This church, or rather the one that is visible from a cult building, is located at the intersection of Via Itri and Via Roma, not far from the Historic Center of Sperlonga, one of the most beautiful in Italy.
Rather than talking about the former church, it can be defined as a non-church not completed, since only the perimeter walls are visible and no ornament on the façade and even on the sides and in any case it is completely devoid of coverage.
The date would be impossible if there were not in the upper part of the frame of the portal, in wrought iron, the date 1897 with the addition of a small cross.
However, the façade would have been simple, with the large portal mentioned above, and dominated by a triangular pediment, with a rose window in the center
On the sides there are at the top two windows on each side with a round arch, while other openings, but walled up, can be seen at the same but below.
In front of the church there is an iron cross, with in the other the classic INRI inscription, with at the base an inscription indicating the date of 1932 in memory of a November 1882 S. Mission.
NOTE INRI:
According to the tradition cited in the gospels Pontius Pilate had the following inscription affixed to the cross of Jesus: "Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum", to mock him.
Therefore in the tradition on the crucifixes that represent this cross the acronym INRI is put.
In Italian it means "Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews".
