Splendido.
It has been almost 10 years since I went to this place of peace rich in spirituality. The walk through the woods that starts from the Monastery is wonderful and makes reaching the goal a victory from many points of view. Gorgeous.

Place of peace, beauty and healthiness. Well stocked with the necessary services for visitors and numerous hikers. It is pleasant to buy cosmetic products, candies, wines, honey ... and even dried mushrooms, all locally produced in the adjacent ancient pharmacy. The visit to the hermitage and to the exhibition (organized in small groups every half hour without a lunch break) was interesting and enriching from a historical, artistic and religious point of view. Gianmarco, our guide, was polite, attentive and prepared, concise and exhaustive in his explanations, alternating with witty comments that lightened the visit. Thanks! The only flaw is the information: I tried, unsuccessfully, to find the opening hours on the net, when I phoned (to the monastery) they gave me incorrect hours. A place like this deserves adequate publicity and information.

lovely place is really beautiful !. at least once in my life I believe and in reality it must be visited even if you are not a believer, it is a really beautiful place. i place is about 1000 years ago in back to 1025 if i am not mistaken they had told me so. I participated in the praises and mass of the epiphany, really strange but really beautiful. it is new. when we went there it was snowed even more beautiful. at the entrance there is also the pharmacy where they sell a bit of everything on what the monks do in order to support them in some way.

San Romualdo had founded many eremitical communities. Towards 1023 he arrived between the Pratomagno and Monte Falterona in the middle of the Casentino forests and decided to found a hermitage in a clearing called Campo di Maldolo (Campus Maldoli). Encouraged by the bishop of Arezzo Teodaldo, under whose jurisdiction that place was located, there erected 5 cells and a small oratory dedicated to San Salvatore Trasfigurato or the first nucleus of the hermitage. The dedication was celebrated in 1027 by the bishop Teodaldo. Subsequently 15 cells were added to the original nucleus of the structure. today in Winter the show that the hermitage is unique. often foxes and deer approach the Monks to be fed ... #italy #italia #nature #igerstoscana #livecolorfully #visittuscany #visititaly #volgotoscana #visitarezzotuscany #volgoarezzo #arezzo #tuscany #igersarezzo

The extreme beauty of the forest matches almost perfectly with the sacred buildings of the Hermitage. But... the greatness is felt 'breathing' the energy that arises from the roots of the trees, blown by prayer and permeating the whole area.

Hidden almost at the top of Foreste Casentinesi, this Hermitage is a gem. Easily accessible by car, bug parking spot. Toilets and snacks available on site. From the hermitage there are many trails for hikers and mountain bike lovers. The area is usually very humid because exposed north
