It's definitely terrible embassy.

It is unbelievable how an embassy can be so indifferent. It's people we are talking about here. Not numbers.

I hope somebody sees these reviews on google maps as there is no other public channel to speak up about the current situation.
I have been trying to get an appointment for a month to get my work visa. My job contract actually started at the 18th of August. I was supposed to be at work at the moment. But instead I will go back to Milan to wait because my appointment got canceled after I arrived in Rome.

This was the WORST Embassy experience I've ever had in my life, and I highly recommend you not to deal with this Institution if you have any possibility.
Long story short;
- It took 4 months to get my work visa for Germany
- Trying to prove that their website's "ideal" appointment reservation program doesn't work, and getting an appointment took more than a month.
- My appointment was cancelled 2 times 3 hours before I was going to enter the Embassy. The fact that I took a plane to get to Rome and had a flight to Germany the next day didn't matter at all.
- The staff is chosen exceptionally carefully to be as rude, irresponsible, and incompetent as possible.
- For every 10 emails, they respond once and give vague answers.
- What they write you via email and tell you during the appointment are entirely different.
- No phone number, only email. They don't give the contact details of the Consul.
- They don't consider any case as an emergency and treat the cases with huge disrespect. There were people at the Embassy who were trying to get their work visa for 6-12 months (I was the lucky one - it took only 4 months)
- They force you to buy unlimited private health insurance to enter the country despite the public health insurance you will have when starting to work at the Company.
I was in touch with the German Embassy in other countries and NEVER had this kind of experience. I believe many things in this Embassy are done illegally and there is no control.
So, if you have an option to enter another German Embassy, just go for it!!
