★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Di questa edicola votiva si trova traccia in antichi libri dedicati alla città di Tivoli : Cabral e Del Re descrivono nel libro “Delle ville e dè più notabili monumenti della città e del territorio di Tivoli” nel 1779 una strada detta di “San Marco” dove “… si osservano vasti ruderi, avanzi di gran villa…”. La strada prenderebbe il nome da una Cappella rurale dedicata al santo andata distrutta già al tempo della pubblicazione di quel testo. Della Cappella rimarrebbe una edicola (“Nicchia”) decorata internamente con immagini della deposizione di Cristo dalla croce
 Traces of this votive shrine can be found in ancient books dedicated to the city of Tivoli: Cabral and Del Re describe in 1779 a road called "San Marco" where "... there are vast ruins, remains of a large villa ...". The road would take its name from a rural chapel dedicated to the saint which was destroyed already at the time of the publication of that text. There would still be a shrine ("Niche") inside the chapel decorated internally with images of the deposition of Christ from the cross
