Si mantiene ancora saldo nella struttura, nonostante le manomissioni subite nel tempo, tra cui la recentissima scomparsa del dromos, il corridoio di accesso al monumento. Sulle sue funzioni e sul suo scopo sono state elaborate svariate ipotesi legate a riti magici o religiosi, ad osservazioni astronomiche o al culto dei morti.Il monumento è noto anche con la denominazione Tavola dei paladini.
 The dolmen probably dates back to the early Bronze Age, around 2000-1500 BC. It still remains firm in the structure, despite the tampering suffered over time, including the very recent disappearance of the dromos, the access corridor to the monument. Various hypotheses related to magical or religious rites, astronomical observations or the cult of the dead have been elaborated on its functions and purpose. The monument is also known under the name Tavola dei paladini.
