D	Danilo on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La diocesi di Viterbo è ricca di storia, la parola Conclave prende il nome dal palazzo Papale della città situato vicino al Duomo dedicato a San Valentino e Ilario, dopo che i Cardinali erano riunita da cinque anni a Viterbo per eleggere il Papa, i buoni Viterbesi tolsero il tetto al palazzo Papale e chiusero a chiave i Cardinali lasciandoli senza acqua e senza cibo fino alla nomina del Papa. The diocese of Viterbo is rich in history, the word Conclave takes its name from the Papal palace of the city located near the Cathedral dedicated to St. Valentine and Ilario, after the Cardinals had gathered for five years in Viterbo to elect the Pope, the good Viterbesi they removed the roof of the Papal palace and locked the Cardinals, leaving them without water and without food until the Pope was appointed.

Viterbo offre l'occasione di immergersi nella storia e senza dubbio la diocesi con il palazzo dei Papi , il duomo ed il museo annesso è il posto dove assaporare aria di cultura e storia del nostro Paese. Le premesse sono esse stesse la descrizione di quanto necessario a comprenderne il significato. Il costo di tutto il tour con audio guida è di 9€ a persona, del tutto adeguato in relazione anche al fatto che l'intera visita può durare anche 2 ore sfruttando la descrizione di ogni singolo punto. D punto di vista artistico neanche a parlarne. Le opere spaziano da dipinti. Arredi sacri. Architettura fino al tesoro della diocesi che non è esteso e di valore come altri (ad esempio quello del museo di San Gennaro di Napoli) ma di tutto rispetto sia dal punto di vista artistico sia artigianale. Un ultima nota va fatta per la parte archeologica che risale fino all'"epoca etrusca. Semplicemente da visitare e da godere. The premises are themselves the description of what is necessary to understand their meaning. The cost of the whole tour with audio guide is 9 € per person, quite adequate in relation also to the fact that the whole visit can last even 2 hours using the description of each single point. D artistic point of view not even to talk about it. The works range from paintings. Holy furnishings. Architecture up to the treasure of the diocese that is not extensive and valuable like others (for example that of the San Gennaro museum in Naples) but respectable both from an artistic and artisanal point of view. A final note should be made for the archaeological part that dates back to the "Etruscan era, simply to visit and enjoy.
