β β β β β Amazing culture, beautifull old buildings, a lot of satisfield turists. The streets are ful of Christmass spirit, shops, restaurants. You can buy what ever you want, for eat, cloths, shoes, souvenirs, drinks, sweets...I loved it!

β β β β β Well deserved tomb for one of our most important literates. Right next to the garden there are also remains if different tombs where he was buried previously and also the pile of earth that hid his remains during the war.
The tomb itself is not a huge monument, but one cannot go to Ravenna without visiting it.

β β β β β Dante's tomb is a must see in Ravenna. Well, I was born and raised here, so my view might be biased, but the history relevance behind it and the significance of the place itself are huge. The nice surprise in 2021 is also the nice art gallery just around the corner. It's really awesome with modern artworks and really cool augmented reality too :)

β β β β β Loreena McKennitt Lyrics
"Dante's Prayer"
When the dark wood fell before me
And all the paths were overgrown
When the priests of pride say there is no other way
I tilled the sorrows of stone
I did not believe because I could not see
Though you came to me in the night
When the dawn seemed forever lost
You showed me your love in the light of the stars
Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me
Then the mountain rose before me
By the deep well of desire
From the fountain of forgiveness
Beyond the ice and the fire
Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me
Though we share this humble path, alone
How fragile is the heart
Oh give these clay feet wings to fly
To touch the face of the stars
Breathe life into this feeble heart
Lift this mortal veil of fear
Take these crumbled hopes, etched with tears
We'll rise above these earthly cares
Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me
Please remember me

β β β β β Beautiful mausoleum for the poet Dante. You can't go in but it's worth a peak as it's do close to the tourist office, to see where the remains of the "Father of the Italian languageβ is laid to rest. Interesting to see where his remains were hidden during WW2 as well.

β β β β β An Italian neoclassical national monument built over the tomb of the poet Dante Alighieri. It is sited next to the Basilica of San Francesco in central Ravenna. A quiet place where you want to find more about the poet and to be more closer to God. The feeling is good.
