★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Da Carolina e Gina is a treasure chest of Italian goodness! I’ve travelled all over Italy, from Milan to Palermo, and never tasted a gelato so fresh and delicious, with a selection of classic and innovative flavors. I could not more highly recommend this location! Take a few steps into the beautiful shop and you’ll see they offer artisanal cheeses and fresh mozzarella made daily. You can go in late afternoon and see it being made right in from of you! Go for the gelato and stay for the aperitivo. Great selection of local salami served with the fresh cheeses (ricotta by the spoonful!) and bread by the famous Chef Niko Romito.
Chat with the owner, Michele, who is super outgoing and passionate! Great staff, cute location, and right in the heart of L’Aquila.
5 stars but more if I could! A MUST if you are in L’Aquila or the vicinity.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Some of the best ice cream I ever had. I can definitely recommend Fritzi do Bosco and passion fruit. Prices reasonable and you also get whipped cream and a cookie (with chocolate) for free??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As for me, the best gelato in whole Italy! Their pistacchio is amazing. You can also ask for chocolate in the cone which I truly love. They give you also panna and biscotto in cioccolato which makes the gelato just perfect.
I recommend also trying their freshly stuffed cannoli con ricotta - really good!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Incredible gelato & sorbetto made with the best quality ingredients. Each cup or cone embellished with a wafer cookie dipped in dark chocolate. The panna is made from 100% local milk from Aquilano. We will be back to taste their cheese selection.
