Conservatory of Music Benedetto Marcello

Come ha già scritto qualcun altro sono ricominciate le visite guidate al Palazzo Pisani Santo Stefano che ospita il Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello che ha avuto insigni maestri ed altrettanto famosi allievi, tra i quali Claudio Scimone (vedi wikipedia), il fondatore dei Solisti Veneti e grande studioso ed interprete di Vivaldi, altro famoso allievo è Pino Donaggio autore di importanti colonne sonore. La visita è molto interessante perchè Ca' Pisani è il più grande palazzo di Venezia dopo il Palazzo Ducale. Doveva mostrare tutta la potenza e ricchezza della famiglia Pisani, che contemporaneamente faceva costruire sempre dal Frigimelica anche Villa Pisani a Stra sulla riviera del Brenta. Le ingenti spese e la minore importanza di Venezia nel Mediterraneo ridussero di molto la ricchezza della famiglia Pisani, a proposito del palazzo Pietro Selvatico ebbe a dire: di rimarchevole [c'è] solo il coraggio dell'antico proprietario di spendere male tanti denari. La terrazza è la più alta di Venezia, nelle giOrnate limpide si può vedere chiaramente l'arco Alpino dal Trentino alle Alpi Slovene. Le foto: 1,2,3,4 - lo stupendo cortile interno. 5 - Venere, così doveva essere nei primi del '700 l'ideale di bellezza femminile. 6 - Sala da ballo alta 2 piani, ora sala dei concerti, una volta nel ballatoio suonavano i musici. 7 - da sx Campanile di Santo Stefano, Chiesa SS Giovanni e Paolo, il retro della Fenice, San Marco 8 - Chiesa del Redentore alla Giudecca 9 - Palazzo Guggenheim 10-San Marco e la chiesa di san Moisè, purtroppo coperta da pannelli pubblicitari 11- Al centro il tetto in metallo della Scala del Bovolo vicino a Campo Manin 12-Tramonto 13 Parte del Museo IL CONSERVATORIO HA NECESSITà DI IMPORTANTI RESTAURI.

Bellissima visita con Venice on top, la storia di Palazzo Pisani è molto interessante, così come lo sono anche i personaggi che lo hanno abitato. Terrazza panoramica con vista stupefacente

Great place for fans of 007! Yes, this is a Bond location featuring in Casino Royale (2006) with Daniel Craig. I really love the building. When I was here they played music just outside the building. Great atmosphere. They also have a nice exposition upstairs.

A visit to this monumental building was brought to us by the beautiful music that was heard from it. The Conservatorio di Musica "Benedetto Marcello" di Venezia is a conservatory in Venice named after the composer Benedetto Marcello and founded in 1876. The magnificent Palazzo Pisani is the seat of the Conservatory. Its rich history is very interesting and enchanting and it is one of the largest and most fascinating Palaces in the city. Attributed by Coronelli to Jacopo Sansovino, it was actually built in 1614-15 when Sansovino had been dead for over 40 years. The project was commissioned and implemented by Alvise Pisani (Doge of Venice), assisted by the architect Bortolo da Venezia, known as "il Manopola", who in those years was proto in San Marco. In the following century the building was enlarged, a second floor was added, the serliana of the large dormer was incorporated into the other elements of the attic, and the building was enlarged towards the Grand Canal. Conservatorio di Musica "Benedetto Marcello", yesterday dwelling of the Doge, today is the University of Music. The interior of the building is lavishly decorated and attracts attention. Famous people, sovereigns and princes stayed here, the chronicles speak of the magnificence of the furnishings and decorations, of the gallery full of paintings by the most famous painters. Among whom were the work of the greatest painters of the Venetian sixteenth century Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese, Palma il Vecchio and many others. Unfortunately for the rapid decline of the family, forced to sell Palazzetto Pisani in 1816 to meet the debts, most of the works of art were sold, among them the painting by Antonio Pellegrini on the ceiling of the ballroom, now the hall of concerts of the Conservatory. Today, the conservatory is working with great success. Thanks to the willingness of generous teachers, the Venice Conservatory is one of the few in Italy to offer two piano masters courses. Talented young musicians from all over the world attend with pleasure the lessons of renowned teachers. Conservatory has a collection of early instruments and relics. An eighteenth-century viola d’amore stands out, attributed to Santo Serafin – workshop in Venice, roots in Udine, where he perhaps learnt the trade from the luthier Goffriller – along with a bust of Verdi, the baton and dais from Wagner’s last concert and one of his unmistakable berets.
