Amazing place with a fantastic nature. The best place for relaxing and enjoying the fresh air. There are many bars and restaurants with good prices. You can try the funicolare to see the city from top.

Rude staff on the train to Milano, we are tourists who came here for the first time. We have tickets but didn’t validate them before getting on train. Then the teller told us we need to validate it so we get off the train and come back after done that. But the rude teller refused to let us get on the train again. He asked us to pay more money even we have our tickets validated! Very rude and impolite! One shitty stuff ruined all the good memories about beautiful scenery here.

A very interesting place. The Catholic cathedral is stunning and a must for tourists. A good bus service up and down the lake on a regular service and very good value

??Lake Como is a Northern Italy jewel, about 45 minutes drive North of Milan's Airport (or by train). It is easier to get there at end of season, when the traffic is not a factor and the tourists went home. The lake is a huge inverted Y bordering in the north with the Alps and Switzerland. Como is a charming town at the bottom of one of the arms of the Y. Roads are bordering the lake all around and there are properties scattered by the lake shore all around where personalities (such as George Clooney, Sofia Loren, Mastroianni's daughter, Versacci's sister, heads of state, popes, princes and princesses) have built or bought their hiding places or palaces.The best way to view the area is, of course by boat, which you can hire from the Como marina. The main means of transportation for the locals year round is also by boat and many locals do not bother to get a driver's license. If you wish to travel to Bellagio, another beautiful little jewel of a town where the arms of the inverted Y meet, you can take a vaporetto from Como and it will get you there in less than 30 minutes. Even though the lake is at the foothills of the Alps (you can see the snow capped mountains), it has its own micro-climate that is warmer and it rarely gets snow and almost never freezes. That is why the vegetation around the lake is lush and you can see large healthy palm trees at the richer residences... 5 STARS.. AMAZING ???

Man at ticket office told us we could buy tickets on the train, but when we boarded, all four of us were fined €55 each for boarding without a ticket. We were given false information and are not happy
