A walk up the historical center with cobblestone paved narrow roads, old mediaval looking houses, 19-20 th century cars is a treat indeed..

This church dates as back as the 9th century but is possibly situated on a previous building.
It got expanded and changed entirely through the centuries also due to natural events such as earthquakes.
Amongst the "new" stones are easily distinguishable previus's construction material, that feels of an even better quality...
Inside the church is also present an unfinished baptesimal bowl, with one of the knobs left uncarved.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Barga is a stunningly beautiful place and the Duomo is its crown, affording 360 degree views of the world below and around. We went before dusk, as the sun set behind mountains. The colors and the clarity of light were radiant!
