Highly recommend scallops wrapped in pancetta with bean paste/soup. Also the parmegiano ice cream was a tasty surprise combination. Lovely setting and fine attention to detail.

I mean I know it is a restaurant, but all we got was a take it or leave it attitude. Had far better pasta in Barga. My wife's lamb ragu pasta did not taste of lamb. My risotto with cheese, and wait for it, pepper, tasted of cheese and pepper but was nothing special. My rigatoni with sausage and mushroom was not good. It was more like a bolognaise sauce. No taste of mushroom whatsoever. Will not be going back. The fact that only one couple was there at 8pm should have told us not to bother.

This restaurant had great reviews - we were especially intrigued by the scallop starter - so decided to go (we is family of 4, which includes 2 high school age daughters). Set in a lovely square, we were immediately greeted by friendly staff and seated outside (as a bonus, a local classical music ensemble was practicing in building next door, so we had lovely music for most of dinner). Proceeded to have a terrific meal that was not much more expensive than some of the more typical trattorias at which we had eaten. Indeed, the scallops were amazing. The egg starter also great. For main course, I had the chestnut honey coated duck which was superb. My husband enjoyed his black ink risotto and the girls enjoyed the seafood pasta. Glass of local red was excellent and we loved the amuse bouche with sip of Prosecco to start. Well worth a visit.

M	Michael Luwado on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Alfonso is nicely located in the center of Barga on a small piazza. Service was really friendly and we got a free prosecco when we arrived. The main course, ravioli filled with burrata with truffle topping, was okayish - though there was a large amount of truffle ( a plus), the fatty burrata was overwhelming the truffle aroma a little bit. We paid 53€ for two main courses, two aperol spritz, one bottle of water and an espresso.
A	Alina Bizgan on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really nice place to dine in Barga. Cute little square dining as you watch the people go by whilst enjoying a quiet dinner. Could not recommend more. Food is a treat. We had the octopus and the starters as a main and then the seafood lasagna and Sicilian tuna. Would come again when in town next time.
