I quadri e le sculture presenti sono la testimonianza del passaggio ad Anticoli di artisti italiani e stranieri quali Hans Lendorff, William Rothenstein, Adolfo De Carolis, Attilio Selva, Ferruccio Ferrazzi, Edita Broglio, Giulio Aristide Sartorio, Arturo Martini, Maurice Sterne, Ercole Drei, Domenico Ponzi, Felice Carena, Emanuele Cavalli, Giuseppe Capogrossi, Corrado Cagli, Fausto Pirandello, Pietro Gaudenzi, Oskar Kokoschka, Jean Jansem ed Eric Hebborn, solo per citarne alcuni. Attualmente il museo conta più di 600 opere, di cui molte esposte in maniera permanente nelle sale superiori, mentre, negli ultimi anni, nelle sale a piano terra le opere del museo lasciano spesso spazio ad interessantissime mostre a tema, organizzate grazie alla direzione sapiente e sensibile dello storico dell’arte Manuel Carrera. The Civic Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Anticoli Corrado was officially established on 15 September 1935 by some of the most important personalities of Italian art of the time. The paintings and sculptures present are evidence of the passage to Anticoli of Italian and foreign artists such as Hans Lendorff, William Rothenstein, Adolfo De Carolis, Attilio Selva, Ferruccio Ferrazzi, Edita Broglio, Giulio Aristide Sartorio, Arturo Martini, Maurice Sterne, Ercole Drei , Domenico Ponzi, Felice Carena, Emanuele Cavalli, Giuseppe Capogrossi, Corrado Cagli, Fausto Pirandello, Pietro Gaudenzi, Oskar Kokoschka, Jean Jansem and Eric Hebborn, just to name a few. Currently the museum has more than 600 works, many of which are permanently exhibited in the upper rooms, while, in recent years, in the rooms on the ground floor the works of the museum often leave space for very interesting themed exhibitions, organized thanks to the skilful management and sensitive of the art historian Manuel Carrera. Dopo vari tentativi ci siamo spostati ad Anticoli Corrado con la speranza dopo il pranzo di visitare il Museo Civico di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea. E cosi è stato. Già ero stato ma non ricordavo quanto il museo fosse straordinario. Innanzitutto è l'unico museo di Arte in zona nel raggio di venti chilometri. Inoltre la collezione ospita su tre piani 700 opere tra sculture, dipinti e disegni di numerosi artisti moderni e contemporanei tra i quali Fausto Pirandello, Raphael Alberti, Arturo Martini autore anche della fontana in Piazza delle Ville. La fama di Anticoli Corrado e delle sue modelle è molta tanto che ha interessato numerosi artisti di rilievo, tra cui Arturo Martini, Pablo Picasso e Marcel Duchamp. In questo periodo il museo ospita la mostra fotografica di Emanuele Cavalli. Era molto che non tornavo ad Anticoli. Sapevo delle sue bellezze. Mi ha fatto molto piacere rinverdire la mia conoscenza del posto. I met one morning with a friend of mine for work reasons. After talking and planning what to do we looked for a place to eat. After several attempts we moved to Anticoli Corrado with the hope after lunch to visit the Civic Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. And so it was. I had already been but did not remember how extraordinary the museum was. First of all, it is the only art museum in the area within a radius of twenty kilometers. In addition, the collection houses 700 works on three floors including sculptures, paintings and drawings by numerous modern and contemporary artists including Fausto Pirandello, Raphael Alberti, Arturo Martini also author of the fountain in Piazza delle Ville.
