★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very nice collection which primarily consists of Japanese and Chinese art (there is also a small selection of Gandharan objects). The explanatory material in Italian and English is very informative and the museum has done some interesting work acknowledging why such a rich collection exists in Trieste in the first place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was amazing I was expecting to go out of there and give three stars but no it exceeded my expectations. If you are going past it is definitely worth a visit. It is great for children and the artwork is exquisite and breathtaking. The fact that this museum is not more visited is beyond me as well as it is free. It is a must.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small museum with a thought through concept and excellent range of exhibits. Highly recommended.
However, it is most strange that the Japanese swords on display have not been polished. Thus, the real beauty of the blades is hidden. Polishing is what a Samurai would do, this is not tampering with the artifact.
