★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Borgo Umbro splendido in tutte le sue caratteristiche tipiche del territorio. Notevole dipinti del Perugino che si possono trovare nel centro storico è all'interno della cattedrale.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Città davvero carina, bel centro storico medioevale visitabile in un paio d'ore. Se capitate in zona secondo me vale la pena visitarla. Vicoli davvero caratteristici.
Really nice city, beautiful medieval old town that can be visited in a couple of hours. If you happen to be in the area, in my opinion it is worth a visit. Really characteristic alleys.

Gli stretti, e suggestivi, vicoli di Città della Pieve che oggi percorriamo da turisti pronti a catturare delle immagini suggestive, sono state, in origine, scenario di cruente battaglie fra pedoni e cavalieri; in quella tristissima partita che si chiama guerra. Così i soldati a piedi potevano muoversi velocemente fra le strette stradine e, eventualmente, contrastare i ricchi armati a cavallo, i quali imperversano sulle strade principali del paese. Quello che è meta turistica, rispondeva a ben precisi scopi offensivi e difensivi, nei comuni del medioevo, sempre alle prese con dispute e scontri fra i vari signori della zona.
The alleys of Città della Pieve
The narrow and evocative alleys of Città della Pieve that today we walk through as tourists ready to capture suggestive images, were originally the scene of bloody battles between pedestrians and knights; in that sad game called war. Thus the soldiers on foot could move quickly through the narrow streets and, eventually, oppose the rich armed men on horseback, who rage on the main roads of the town. What is a tourist destination, responded to very specific offensive and defensive purposes, in the towns of the Middle Ages, always struggling with disputes and clashes between the various lords of the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Borgo che mi ha un po' deluso vista la grande pubblicità mediatica... Nulla da segnalare di interessante o che ti possa arricchire culturalmente. Un semplice borgo medievale con la caratteristica di edifici a mattoni a vista come ce ne sono tanti in Italia. Da visitare è il Palazzo della Corgna e la Cattedrale, poi sinceramente, a mio gusto, c'è ben poco di interessante. Ma naturalmente è solo una mia modesta opinione personale

A simple medieval village with the characteristic of exposed brick buildings like there are so many in Italy.
