★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Di origine medioevale, la chiesa venne probabilmente iniziata ai primi del duecento e completata nel trecento con successiva ristrutturazione del seicento. Il restauro del 1957 ha ripristinato l’assetto più antico.
Of medieval origin, the church was probably begun in the early thirteenth century and completed in the fourteenth century with subsequent restructuring of the seventeenth century. The 1957 restoration restored the older structure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stupenda piccola chiesa nel centro storico di Varenna sul Lago di Como. Bellissimo ciclo di affreschi per la maggior parte ben conservati. Mi immagino la grande emozione dei tanti stranieri che entrano a visitare questo piccolo ed inaspettato gioiello medioevale, e il ricordo che si portano a casa tornando dalle loro vacanze.
Superb little church in the historic center of Varenna on Lake Como. Beautiful cycle of frescoes for the most part well preserved. I imagine the great emotion of the many foreigners who come to visit this small and unexpected medieval jewel, and the memory they take home when they return from their holidays.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa è molto antica pare del 1100, negli anni '60 è stata restaurata tornando al suo antico impianto romanico.
La chiesa è a navata unica, le pareti presentano bellissimi affreschi datati XV secolo.
Da vedere.
The church is very old, apparently from 1100, in the 60s it was restored returning to its ancient Romanesque structure.
The church has a single nave, the walls have beautiful 15th century frescoes.
To be seen.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Piccola graziosa chiesa dell'XI sec., costruita già allora sui resti di una precedente costruzione paleocristiana.
Sono ancora visibili alcuni affreschi, la chiesa è stata restaurata negli anni 60.
È un luogo tranquillo e sereno, privo di quella severità che invece caratterizza altre chiese della zona di stile lombardo.
Bella, vale la pena una visita
Small pretty church of the 11th century, built already then on the remains of a previous early Christian construction.
Some frescoes are still visible, the church was restored in the 60s.
It is a peaceful and serene place, devoid of the severity that characterizes other churches in the Lombard style area.
